Chapter 17

AMBER

My eyes barely opened as I felt vibrations next to me. It took my brain a few seconds before figuring out that it was my phone making all those vibrations....

I searched for it on my right side and without looking in that direction, my hand found it's way to it and soon I was looking directly at the screen.

I quickly sat myself up as my eyes widened a little more and I answered the call.

"Hello?" I lowly said as my voice faught to come out.

A little chuckle was heard from the other side before I realized who it was.

I recognize that laugh from anywhere and it put a smile to my face even though I was half awake.

"I feel insulted" he said after his little chuckle.

"How come?" I asked confused.

"Thought you would have stayed up waiting for my call" he responded making me shake my head and role my eyes.

"JJ it's - ", quickly checking my phone for the time, I silently let out a 'wtf' from my mouth.

"4 a.m....what?" I finished.

"I noticed" he responded and I visualized him smirking after he said that.

I took a moment to gather all my thoughts before I heard movement on the other side.

"Damn" JJ let out as the movement continued.

"What?" I asked.

Without a thought, a video call was requested and i just stared at my phone shyly. I was in no way camera ready for a video call.

"Amber" JJ let out.

"Yeah" I responded.

"I don't care how you look right now Ayt, just pick up" he responded before I pressed the green button to accept the video request.

I felt heat spread to every part of my body as I saw JJ shirtless, relaxed on his chair with his feet up on his study table.

He had a grin on his face as he checked me out.

"That's more like it" he said as I struggled to stop blushing.

"JJ why you up so early??" I asked changing the focus away from me.

"Couldn't sle-"

Before JJ could finish his words, the door opened and I could hear a baby crying.

"Ma nigga your son really don't stop wit the tears" I heard Madison say as she came into view holding a little baby.

My heart froze at the words 'your son'.

"Oh, am I interrupting something?" She stopped noticing that me and him were on call.

"Yeah..." JJ plainly said as he stood up off seat and moved from the camera.

"Hey amber?" Madison nervously said.

"Hi" I responded feeling awkward.

We both fell quiet as she cradled the baby, swaying and trying to calm the baby down.

"Ummm-"

"Yeah, it is" Madison responded reading my mind.

"Nah it ain't" I heard JJ say as he came back into view handing Madison a binky which stopped the baby from crying.

"JJ" Madison said in an offended way.

"I don't know why y'all keep saying he my son when we haven't even gotten the DNA test back. Don't foo yoself just cause shawty pulled up wit a baby. She trynna trap me yo" JJ let out a little pissed.
