Chapter 27

AMBER

"Like the legend of the phoenix, huh"
"All ends with beginnings"
"What keeps the planet spinning, ah"
"The force from the beginning, hm, look"
"We've come to far"
"To give up who we are"
"So let's raise the bar"
"And our cups to the stars"

I sat in the car with two packets of skittles and a vanilla ice cream as I waited for King to come back in the car.

We stopped at a gas station and i so happened to crave what I'm eating now.

My favorite song by Pharrell Williams played as I waited and I opened one of my skittle packets and started eating while singing along to the song.

The door for the driver side soon opened and King got in before giving me a weirded out look.

"What?" I asked and he shook his head at me putting the volume down.

"What are you listening to?" He asked starting the car.

"You don't know who this is?" I asked in shock.

"No" he answered and I just put the volume back up and sang the song to the top of my lungs.

"Sing with me" I said as I danced in the car and king just laughed.

"I don't know the lyrics" he said as we drove out the gas station.

"That's crazy man" I laughed and he pressed on it again.

We weren't far from the place so we only took ten minutes to get there before the car was parked at one of the garages I saw earlier.

I got out the car and continued dancing as I enjoyed my skittles before King locked the car and my fun was over.

"Aw" I said bummed out.

"Come on now" king said and he lead us out the garage and into the big mansion.

"Keep close" king said as he lead me to the group, but they were in a different spot, closer to an outside fire place.

Alex was the first person I noticed before I saw Madison seated next to him and Marcus seated next to her and then Tony, Lay, Kim, Brody and Caroline who looked happy to see King.

"Where did you guys go?" Caroline asked and king made her shift up before I decided to sit next to Alex.

He gave me a smile and then put his arm over my shoulder before he leaned to whisper something.

"When is she coming back?" He asked and I smiled at how much he missed my cousin Aubrey.

I looked at him and blushed before I decided to return the same energy and whisper in his ear too.

"In two weeks time" I said and he laughed to himself.

"I know" he said.

"Then why ask?"

"To keep you distracted from whatever is running through your head right now" he said and I smiled before a commotion by the pool took my attention.

Some guy had picked a girl up and threw her in the pool.

"Y'all up for a swim?" I heard from behind Alex and I, It was Ty, and this time I was chilled.

I didn't have the energy to hold an attitude or be moody because I was tired.

I had a long day, and each event that took place today was draining on their own.

But that doesn't mean I'm gonna talk to him....
