I snapped my head at him and released Maxwell. Malaki was smiling at me with his naughty grin while I sent him a death stare.

I must give Maxwell credit. I expected him to shift there and then. But instead, he managed to speak. "You what?" His voice was jagged, and his jaw might break from the amount of pressure he was putting on it, but he managing to stay rather calm.

"He did nothing." I said rolling my eyes, "I'm just in a good mood." I met Maxwell's eyes and gave him a reassuring smile.

"Why?" Maxwell's eyes darted between Malaki and I. I could feel the tension rise.

"Because I have been unable to touch the ocean in over twenty-four hours, and now I can." I shrugged out a smile.

"Also, I slept with her." I flicked my fingers sending a shooting laser of water at Malaki. It threw him completely off guard and he thrown back against the tree.

"We didn't have sex." I said patting Maxwell's arm reassuring.

Maxwell looked at Malaki, a slight smile slipping at the sight of Malaki knocked over.

"Where is Isaac?" I asked changing the topic.

Maxwell led me into the training facility and towards Isaac's office.

"You didn't sleep with him?" Maxwell had to confirm, just had to make sure that I did not sleep with the Dark Prince.

"We shared a bed." I started truthfully, which caused him to spin and face me, "But we did not have sex."

Maxwell was examining me, searching my face for more information.

"Did you do anything?" Maxwell's question had me gritting my teeth.

"I am not yours Max," I snapped with irritation. I didn't mean to sound so harsh, and I immediately felt guilty.

"You seem to forget, that no matter what, I am going to care about happens to you." He stepped towards me.

"I know." I whispered feeling washed with remorse for snapping at him.

He stood inches from me, "I may not be your mate, or partner, or whatever." He shrugged with irritation, "But I am your best friend."

I looked up at my best friend's green eyes. "I know." I said softly.

"If he makes you do anything you do not want." Maxwell's hands were in a fist, "I need you to tell me."

I saw the expression in his face, what he was offering to do for me, how far he would go to protect me. I also saw the shame in his eyes, the guilt that he might have also let it happen with Jake. Even if he didn't know, I saw that guilt.

"Thank you." I said cupping his face.

"For what?"

"For being my rock."

His lips curved up and I slowly released his face.

I walked into Isaac's office with Maxwell close behind me.

Isaac sat at his desk, surrounded by piles of books. He didn't even look up to greet me. Was he really that mad at? Still?

I walked forward and sat myself down on the desk. "I am back, alive, and Malaki is back with his sword." I said with a confident voice.

"Great, now he can kill us in our sleep." Isaac muttered with annoyances as he continued to read through his books.

Maxwell let loose a breath of frustration, I opened my mouth, prepared to fight with Isaac.
