We had been flying for Hours.
Hours of racing between Maxwell and Malaki, hours of them trying to outdo the other with their flying skills. I had eventually felt so sick from the motion that I had snapped at both of them to stop it.
I noticed the shimmering glints of a torn shield come into view. When we got closer I saw the hints of the Island that lay hidden behind the Ward. Isaac must have opened up the shield for us.
We flew through the tear and very quickly, that shield stitched shut, securing us safely inside. Malaki's House and Island came into view.
We flew down towards the beach's shore where I saw that Isaac and Brianna were already waiting for us. Isaac's eyes looked so relieved, even Brianna seemed to hold her breath as she clenched her fists together with excitement.
Maxwell landed first immediately transforming back into a naked human. Isaac threw a towel at him, already prepared. Maxwell was not ashamed of his body, he had gotten so used to it. Even I had. But poor Brianna's eyes looked as if they would pop out of her head.
Malaki placed us down gently onto the sand. He slowly slid me down onto my feet, but kept his hands securely wrapped around my waist.
His leathery wings folded tightly behind his back before they vanished from view completely.
Brianna stood starring at Maxwell as he wrapped the towel around his waist. I did not see Maxwell nervous often, but as he looked at her, staring at him. I saw the awkward smile that washed over his face.
Malaki let out a cough as he slowly released me. I stepped to the side of him. The fake cough caught her attention and she smiled at Malaki. Her brown eyes were massive as they seemed to shimmer with pure joy.
She rushed towards him and threw her hands around his neck. He pulled her into a tender embrace as he rested his chin on her shoulder and closed his eyes.
They stood for several seconds like that, until she finally pulled away. She looked up at him, and her smile began to fade.
She threw her fist in his stomach, he barely flinched but he frowned at her. "Teleport me away again and it won't be your stomach next time." She used her finger to point to where she would be hitting next.
My eyes widened and Maxwell's lips seemed to curve up with amusement.
I didn't know if I should be jealous of this girl.
"Honestly Brianna." Malaki shook his head at her.
Her eyes narrowed at him, and I could see her warning was genuine. She looked sweet, but I had no doubt she could vicious if she chose.
A seer in the Dark Realm was sure to come out with a strong backbone.
She turned to face me now. Her face softened as her lips slightly parted. She seemed to stare at me in complete awe.
"It's really you." She said with shock in her voice.
"Hi." I started. "I am Marilla." I said putting out my hand realizing that I hadn't introduced myself yet.
She took my hand greedily and began shaking it with rapid movement. "She's shaking my hand." She said smiling at Malaki.
His face fell into his palm as he shook his head. His fingers began to rub the arch in his eyebrow.
"Am I missing something?" I asked as she continued to shake my hand. I looked between the excited Seer and the nervous Malaki.
"You are a legend." She said releasing my hand, "Especially to us, Seers."
