I sat tied to the chair for days, feeling myself slowly dehydrate again.
Mermaids dehydrated so darn fast. Why did I let myself cry when I saw him leave with Lenora? I should not have cried.
It began to feel unbearable, my mouth dry and sticky, my head barely able to hold itself up. I gave myself another few hours before my organs began to fail. I needed water and soon.
I began to fall in and out of consciousness.
"Marilla." A velvet voice spoke I tried to lift my head but was unable to open to my eyes.
"Drink Princess, Drink." He said putting a cold object once again to my lips. I felt liquid pour onto my mouth, and soon opened it to greedily accept the water.
"Yes, drink for me, stay alive." He said in a soothing tone. I managed to open my eyes to see Malaki kneeling in front of me, his eyes filled with worry. Gone was the black crown, and terrifying robes. He wore his dress shirt and normal black suit pants.
I pulled away from him and moaned, I couldn't play this game anymore. I got it; he was a psychopath who wanted to make me hurt.
"Princess, I need you to drink, you need strength." He said brushing my hair out oh my face and bringing the flask up to my mouth again. I continued to drink it down, needing water more than anything else at that moment.
I felt my body begin to hydrate and my body gain strength.
"Malaki, why?" I asked as I felt stronger.
"I think I have a plan to get us all out of here." He said placing the flask down and moving to my feet removing the shackles. I stared in shock.
"What?" I asked with a suspicious tone.
"I was so stupid; I should have picked up on it earlier." He mumbled to himself as he turned to the back of my chair.
"Malaki." I said again, still feeling confused.
He untied my hands and brought them back to in front of me. I began to rub my wrists, and my palms. Everything ached from where I had been trapped and tied up.
"Blood." He said cupping my face, "Blood contains water."
My eyes widened at his words, and at his tone. He didn't sound cold and heartless anymore. I didn't like this game.
"What sick foreplay is this between you and your mate?" I asked pulling out of his hands.
"I had felt your magic before, when you claimed you didn't use it, when Lenora kissed me against the cupboard door." He began getting up. "Then I felt it when we were attacked and you thought Lenora and I were working together. So I had her knock you out, to buy time while I figured out a way for us to win this. Then I felt it when she kissed me earlier today. I decided to test my theory and kissed Lenora back and bam!" He said clicking his fingers. "My blood boiled and felt like it was going to be ripped from my skin."
I stood up from the chair listening to Malaki's words. I turned to him feeling my rage rise to the surface. He froze as I focused on boiling his blood and pulling it out of him. Why hadn't I ever thought about this before.
"Marilla." He said calmly, feeling my powers rip through his blood. "Marilla I can help you."
"You used me." I spat walking towards him.
"No, I helped you." He said as he spat out blood from his mouth.
"Lies." I hissed tightening my grip of his blood.
