I was being dragged, dragged against cold tiles that gripped at my already dried out skin. How long have I been asleep?
I managed to look up to see a guard, his skin greyish, and his eyes the same shade. He had black hair. He was not human, but not a minion. Fae? Dark Fae.
I was wrapped in about fifty different types of rope. I couldn't move my hands, they were completely secured.
I was dragged further through a castle. High vaulted ceilings, and gothic archways. This is what I pictured Malaki lived in, this felt wrong, but would make sense.
I remembered Lenora finding us, and Malaki... He had turned, no he had played me the entire time. He had used the deal magic for his own personal gain. He had used me to find the Trident for the Dark One.
I was such a fool.
I was dragged into a room with more light dripping through. The white and black marbeled floor lead to a dais. On top of the dais a throne, and empty black throne. I winced, of course the throne was made out of black skulls. What else would a throne of darkness be made out of.
Large windows arched windows led to crashing waves that stood behind them. I wanted to grab onto that water, use it.
"Do not try Child." I heard her voice and my sking rippled with disgust. "I have wared the castle, you cannot touch that water." Lenora stepped out from the side of me and towards the empty throne.
My eyes focused and saw the long green shimmering dress she wore as she stepped onto the dais. And there behind the throne, barely visible in the darkness I saw the back of his hair.
His white hair, blew in the wind as he stared out the window. He wore a long black robe that led to the floor. On his head a black circlet that twirled around his head. His sword hung on his hips, and he looked terrifying from behind. Like what a Dark Prince should look like. Not some man, making roast chicken in a modern kitchen. I was such a fool.
He barely looked over his shoulder when he growled, "I thought I said she stays in the dungeon."
Lenora traced a finger over the throne before stepping towards him, "I wanted her to see your true self My Prince." She stated as that slender finger traced over his shoulder.
She looked over at me, "What do you think?" She asked me now. "Worth the nightmares isn't he?" She traced that nail down his back.
He did not move, did not flinch away either.
"Why did you make a deal with him?" She asked with astonishment and interest.
He looked over his shoulder slightly and I caught the side of his cold silver eye.
I didn't respond, and I saw her grow impatient.
"Answer her." He growled and turned around fully to face me.
He looked like he had been dipped in darkness. Every inch of him pitch black fabric covered. I couldn't even see the tattoos that swirled up his arm.
"Thought it would be fun to trap a Prince." I mocked with a smirk.
Lenora let out a chuckle while Malaki remained completely placid.
"How did that go child?" She laughed, "You lost your friends, your Trident, and your maiden hood."
I clenched my jaw but, refused to give her the satisfaction of knowing how much she upset me.
"Could have had better." I shrugged.
