THE NEXT DAY...
DANIEL MET UP with Mr. Miyagi in the shop, roughly around nine in the morning, the time they just open. "Morning Mr. Miyagi!" Daniel greets with a smile as he comes in. "I brought you some tea," He says as he takes a sip of the coffee he got for himself from 7-11. "Good-morning, Daniel-San. Thank you!" He smiles and nods as Danny places down the cup on the table next to him.

"So we got a busy day ahead of us today. And oh, right! I gotta call up that flower shop and see how progress is doing." Danny reminds himself, looking for the phone.

When he found it, he pulled out that piece of paper with the number Darcy wrote on it, and called it. It was ringing for a while, and after about the fifth one, Danny was beginning to wonder if anyone was even going to answer. He was just about to hangup to try again, when someone finally spoke on the line.

"Hello?"
"Oh, yeah hi! Umm, I'm Daniel LaRusso. I'm calling from Miyagi's Little Trees shop. Could I speak to Darcy please?"
"Sure! One second." He was put on hold, and the cheesy waiting music began playing.

Daniel sighed, getting bored after a while of waiting when finally, Darcy had answered on the other line. "Hello? Daniel?" She says. "Hey Darcy! How's it going?"
"Pretty good, yourself?"
"Yeah, I'm doing good! So, has there been any progress with the posters and orders?"
"Yes! I just started some last night, and so far you have about five hundred posters ready. My boss has been trying to work on the orders, that just might take a while though!" Darcy explains on the other line.

"Whoa, hey that's pretty good for a start! Ok cool, so can I maybe stop over later and come pick up the posters that you have ready so far?" Asks Daniel.

"Yeah, what time were you thinking?"
"Maybe like four thirty?"
"Ok, sounds good! So that's in about an hour. See you then!" She says.

Danny hangs up the call, and when he does goes to see if Mr. Miyagi needed help with anything else. "Ok, so I just called the flower shop and they have about five hundred flyers ready so far! And Darcy also said her boss is going to get started on some orders to if they can." Daniel explained as he sat down next to his friend, drinking some of his water. "Very good! Thank you for your help, Daniel-San. Much appreciated." Mr. Miyagi says as he trims one of the bonsai bushes.

"Yeah, of course. No problem!" Danny smiles. And to pass the time, they talked for a while as they set up the rest of the shop. There was still a lot that was needed to be done, and it would take quite a while. Until finally, it hit four thirty, and Danny didn't even notice yet. "Daniel-San," Mr. Miyagi says, looking at the clock. "Huh?" Danny questions, finally noticing the time. "OH! Right, I better get going. I'll be back in about half an hour!" He says as he leaves, closing the door behind him.

Once he got there, the doorbell rang as he swung it open. Darcy immediately came over when she heard, with a bunch of papers inside a box. "Hey Daniel!" She greeted with a smile. "Hey, Darcy! Thanks so much for doing all of this for me and my friend, we really appreciate you guys' help." He says, taking the box. "If there's anything I could do to pay you back, just let me know." He added. "No, that's totally fine! I'm happy to help you out. It's no trouble at all." Darcy says.

Danny smiles, as he puts down the box to see what some of the posters looked like as he pulled one out. "Whoa, that's great! Did you draw that?" He asks. "Yeah, I did actually. I love art, it's one of my biggest hobbies," she explains. "As you can tell by all the paintings I've placed around the shop."

"No way, you painted all those? I thought you maybe had someone come in and do those for you guys," He says, looking around at them all. Darcy chuckles a little, and picks one up. "Yeah, I did all these. This was actually the first one I did, the owner saw me doing them on break once and he asked if I could make more and hang them up around the shop for decoration. So I did. He did pay me a little extra for it, but not much." She explains, showing him the water colored painting.

"Oh, that's really cool actually." He says. "Did you ever show any of your friends your work before?" He adds, picking up another painting. "I don't have friends really, actually..." Darcy shrugs, rubbing her arm sheepishly. Danny pauses, and turns back around. "Not even one friend you're close to?" He questions. "Nope. I just, I don't know. I'm afraid to get close to anyone, honestly." She explains.

"Well, how come? If you don't mind me asking," Danny says, sitting on a small stool that was near the register.

"Every time I get close to someone, they either turn against me or abandon me without warning. And I don't know, I just don't want to be hurt again. But sometimes it does get lonely. But not all the time, I have work to keep me busy, and my art. So I guess it's ok," Darcy tells him. Danny doesn't say much, but only nods. He felt terrible for her, how could someone have no friends? Not even one?

"I'm sorry, that was probably too much information. I have a problem with that, that's probably why nobody likes to hangout with me. I talk too much," She says, after a little bit of silence. "I don't think you talk too much, I don't mind it."

"Anyways...whoa, it's been nearly two hours already!" She says, looking at her watch. "What? Seriously?" Danny asks, looking up at the clock. It has been almost two hours already, as it was almost six thirty. "Ah, I should get going then." He stands up, taking the box. "Hey, thank you again for all your help, I really appreciate it." He smiles at her, and she smiles back. "Yeah, no problem."

"Hey uhm, wait a minute. Before I go, here." Daniel takes out one of the flyers, and on the back, writes his number. "What's this?" Darcy asks when he gives her the paper. "It's my number. If you ever feel alone and wanna talk to anyone, you can call me. Maybe we can plan a hangout sometime or something," He says.

Darcy smiles, and nods. "Yeah, I would definitely like that. Thank you!" She says. He waves as he carries out the box with the rest of the flyers, and Darcy hasn't felt happier. She'd finally have a friend, and someone cute, too.
