chapter 5. one more try

DANIEL AND DARCY came back to the car at around midnight. "Hey Daniel, can I ask you something?" Darcy said. "Sure what's up?" He replied as they got into the car. "You had fun tonight right?" She asked him. "Yeah, definitely! This was actually the most fun I've had in a while," He replied honestly. Darcy felt a little better about things, maybe this was going to workout with Daniel after all.

"Well, except for my ex boyfriend suddenly showing up," She said with a small chuckle. "True, that was uhm, interesting." He said with a smirk. "Don't worry about him though. He's just all talk, he tries to act so tough. He's not gonna do anything to you. But if he does, I'll get him to back off." Darcy explains just as they pulled out of their parking spot and began to drive.

"I hope so..." Danny mumbled. He definitely didn't want another Johnny Lawrence to deal with, which that guy reminded him a lot of. Dealing with Johnny was miserable enough. For once, Daniel just wanted to live in peace with no bullies. But he couldn't seem to get away from that. Everywhere he went, he seemed to pose as a target to a new jerk.

Daniel pulled up to Darcy's house to drop her off home for the night. "This is it right?" He asks as he squints to see in the darkness. "Yeah, that's the one. Thanks for the ride home! Call you tomorrow?" Darcy asks as she gets out of the car. "Yeah, alright! See you later!" Daniel smiles as Darcy waves while walking up to her door.

The next day as Daniel had just arrived at Mr. Miyagi's shop, the phone began ringing. "Mr. Miyagi? Hello? Someone's calling!" He called out, not seeing his friend around. Until a few seconds later, he came out from the back. "Answer for me please, Daniel-San." Says Mr. Miyagi. "Sure, got it," Danny replied, picking up the phone. "Hello?" "Daniel! My shop--it's destroyed!" A distressed Darcy answered on the other line. "Darcy?? Oh my God, what happened? Are you ok?"

"I'm fine--but the shop isn't! I just got here a few minutes ago, and everything's smashed all over the place and completely destroyed! Who the hell?!" She explains. "Hey, it's gonna be ok Darcy, slow down. Alright, I'll come over and check it out ok? Don't worry, we'll fix this!" He promised her. "Alright, I might have an idea of who could've done this, actually," Darcy said as she was thinking about last night. "Ok, yeah just stay where you are for now, I'm on my way alright?" Daniel said. "Ok, hurry!" Darcy exclaimed as he hung up the phone after.

"Hey Mr. Miyagi, I'm heading back over to the flower shop ok? I'm sorry, but Darcy said it's been destroyed, I gotta check it out." Daniel explains, throwing on a coat before leaving. "Ok, no problem," Mr. Miyagi replies. "Thanks, I'll try to be back as quick as I can--" He says while leaving, stopping in his tracks just as he nearly ran into someone blocking his path outside.

When he looked up and saw who it was standing in his way, he sighed. "Ah, geeze." He mumbled, taking a step back. "Of course, why not?" "Look man, I don't want any trouble today, alright? Now I need to help a friend--" Daniel froze in shock when he was suddenly grabbed by his collar. "Hey, man!" He growled, trying to pull himself off. "Listen LaRusso. I know about you and the All Valley tournament, and you better not show this time alright? And back off Darcy. Darcy's mine, and mine only, punk." Mike said, getting into his face.

"What?! Hey man, we were just hanging out as friends last night alright! And you can't tell me not to enter the next All Valley! I'm competing, whether you like it or not! You can make all the threats you want I really don't care! And Darcy isn't your girlfriend anymore, man! Give it up! Now put me down!" Daniel shouts, kicking as Mike lifted him up even higher. "Alright, I'll put you down." He then smirked, and threw him down onto the ground. Mr. Miyagi was watching by the window to see what was going on.

"Listen loser. If I see you with Darcy again, or hear about you going to the All Valley tournament, you're gonna be so sorry LaRusso." Mike said as Daniel struggled to get up. He then roughly kicked him in his stomach, making him fall back down.

Mr. Miyagi placed his hand on the doorknob, ready to come out and help Daniel if he needed. But he didn't seem to, as Mike smirked at him on the ground and went away finally. Daniel struggled to get back up and glared at Mike as he laughed mockingly. Daniel scowled when he finally managed to get back up. Why did there always have to be trouble? He sighed as he began to head over to Darcy's shop.

ONCE DANIEL ARRIVED, he saw how destroyed the shop actually was. "Oh my God, Darcy? Are you here?? Are you ok?" Daniel asked in almost a panic as he entered the shop. "Daniel," Darcy said, coming out from the back. She looked very upset, but he didn't blame her. He'd be upset too if this happened to him. "I--I--" "Hey, hey. It's going to be ok," Danny assured her, pulling her into a hug. "What happened to you? You look like someone beat you up--" She said once they pulled out. "Yeah well, I kinda did get beat up before I came here." He told her. "What?! By who??" Darcy demanded to know.

"I think it was that guy we ran into last night but, I wasn't sure. I didn't get too much of a look at him, I was too busy trying to struggle from his hold on me." He told her. "He was also telling me to not enter the All Valley tournament and threatened me if I did. Don't worry, I'm not going to listen to him though, I'm still going to the All Valley no matter what him or anyone else tells me," He continues to explain.

Darcy huffed in anger, throwing down a box she was holding. "I can't believe him! Ugh! This is exactly why we broke up! I'm so sorry Daniel...you don't deserve that." Darcy apologizes. "Hey, it's not your fault. We just need to try to avoid him, that's all we can really do right now..." Danny says with a sigh as he picks up one of Darcy's paintings which seemed to have been ripped up.

"But in the mean time, we need to think of a plan. It doesn't seem like he's going to be backing down anytime soon, so we need to think of a way to defend ourselves if he does attack." Darcy reminded him. "Yeah, definitely. Don't worry Darcy. We'll think of something...hopefully."

A/N: Okay hey guys! Wow this chapter turned out to be longer than expected, but I just had a ton of muse to keep updating it with tons of new ideas that I was excited for! Lol let me know what y'all think in the comments!
