Chapter 11. Must Not Lose to Fear

DANIEL GLARED AS he looked to see who was above them. "Hey man, this isn't a joke anymore!" He shouts. "It never was!" Barnes replied. "So give us our ropes back!" Daniel answers. "Nahhh, I don't think I will!" He smirks. "Just give us the damn ropes back, Mike!" Darcy shouts.

"Have fun getting mashed against the rocks when the tides come in!" Barnes laughs maniacally. "What are our chances of getting out of here without those ropes?" Daniel turned to Darcy and asked. "None," she replied. That's what he thought. Barnes threw the ropes off to the sides, so that they were now hanging off the cliff. "Alright, I'm bored now. Later!" Barnes says, heading off.

"Look! The ropes are over there!" Darcy points out. "I can't believe that son of a bitch just left us here!" Daniel huffs, climbing over the branches to get to the ropes. "How the hell are we supposed to get back up now?!"

"Uhh, here," Darcy says, reaching to grab one of them. "I can try to climb up and pull you up. I should be able to get around," she says, examining the property. "You sure?" Daniel asks. "Yeah. Toss me the ropes," she tells him. He does so and Darcy catches it. She manages to find a way back around and climb up, and Daniel still holds onto the tree.

"I'm up!" She calls out. "Good!" Danny replies. "Now hold on, I'll toss down the ropes! I'm just gonna tie this right here," she says, beginning to tie the rope around the tree which looked sturdy enough. Then, she tosses down the rope as Daniel catches it and holds a tight grip onto it. "Got it!" He calls up to her. "Good! Hang on," She exclaims, pulling him up with as much strength as she could. 

"Damn, for someone with not that many muscles you're pretty heavy," Darcy teases as she pulls him up all the way. "Hey!" He gave her a playful glare, gently shoving her. Darcy only smirked in response. "You need to work out more, just saying." Darcy comments again, this time earning an eye roll from Daniel. "Whatever. Alright come on, let's get out of here now!" He says, grabbing onto the tree tightly to make sure it wouldn't fall this time. 

"Way ahead of you!" Darcy calls out, already leading ahead. "Hey! Wait up a minute!" Daniel calls out, chasing after her as they go to leave the forest.
