THE NEXT MORNING, Daniel met Darcy in her shop. "Hey, Darcy." He greeted her with a small smile. "Hey," She replied, mirroring his expression. "So...you think you're gonna go into the tournament?" She questions him. "Well, at this point, what choice do I have?" He shrugs, sighing. "I might as well just get this over with. Since it seems Mike and his goons won't be leaving us alone for a while," He adds. "You don't HAVE to, you know." Darcy says with a smirk. "Huh?" Daniel asks. "What do you mean?"

"You could lie. Just tell Barnes you already signed it and he'll most likely leave you alone, even though you didn't." She explains. "He's dumb like that. There's a ninety percent chance he'll fall for it." She adds. "No, I can't do that. I mean, what if he finds out? He's probably gonna look through the papers to see my signature. And if he doesn't see anything there, I'm gonna get my ass kicked, again." He says, shaking his head. Danny felt his blood boiling, the more he thought about Mike Barnes and those stupid papers.

"I just CAN'T!" Daniel suddenly shouts, kicking the wall. "I can't take it anymore!" He sighs, sitting down on a chair. "Danny?" Darcy asks with concern. "Why is it that everywhere I go, I get bullied? I just want a normal life for once. I just want peace!" He sighs, placing his hand on his forehead in distress. "Oh Danny..." Darcy sighed, sitting on the armrest of the chair with him. "I'm so sorry," She says. "Everyone else can have peace, why can't I? Is that just too much to ask for?" He questions. "No, Daniel not at all. Trust me, Mike's gonna get what's coming to him. He's just an asshole, don't listen to him. He tries to act all big and tough," Darcy tried to comfort him.

After a while of silence and thinking, Daniel speaks up; "Alright that's it. You know, where are those papers? I'm signing them!" He huffs, standing up. "Daniel! What about Mr. Miyagi?" She questions. "I don't care! If it'll get Barnes off my back for once, then fine! I'll sign them!" He responds, pulling out the papers. "Danny. Are you absolutely sure you want to go into this tournament? I mean you saw how Mike is--what he did to us and the shop," Darcy reminds him. "Yeah, I'm aware. But if I kick his ass in this tournament, just like I did with Lawrence, he'll leave me alone and I can defend my title." Daniel says as he signs the papers. "Aaand--there. Done! Now to just mail these," He smiles, taking the papers out to the mailbox.

LATER THAT AFTERNOON, Daniel went back to the dojo and started to train himself. He had not told Mr. Miyagi about signing those papers, he knew he'd get a lecture about it. So he figured it would be better off if he just kept it to himself and Darcy. He was meditating, when suddenly the gate creaked open. "Hey, LaRusso!" A familiar voice said. "Oh, come on man! Not now," Danny begs as Barnes comes further inside. "So...have you made a decision yet?" Barnes asks him, stepping up to him as he backs away. "Actually, yeah. I already signed the papers this morning, so could you get out of here and leave me alone, now?" Danny tells him, pointing to the gate.

"Oh you have, huh?" He smirks, then kicking Daniel's stomach harshly. "What...the hell man?! I—signed the papers—" he groaned, clutching his stomach. "Just take that as a warning, LaRusso! I'm taking your title at the tournament, and if you win, there's going to be hell to pay." He threatens him, kicking him once more before going off before Mr. Miyagi could come again to attack him.

Daniel laid on the ground for a couple of minutes just in pain, before helping himself back up again. He really needed to train, he didn't care what Mike threatened him with. He wanted to be left alone, and despite his threats if he won the tournament and kicked Mike's ass he was for sure he would never bother him or Darcy ever again.

"Barnes...you're on," Daniel said to himself, getting into another fighting position. He went back to the punching bags, punching harder than he ever has before. He wasn't going to lose this.
