"Hello? Anybody!"

Mizuka shouted in the middle of the streets. Normally, people would stick their heads out of their office windows and tell them to keep quiet but not today. No one responded to what Mizuka had said, sending shivers down everyone's spines.
"Is this like some type of prank that the whole country's playing on us. Like, you know, those reality TV shows that prank you to see your reactions? Maybe the title's gonna be someting like, 'What would high school students do if they were left in the middle of a city with no one in it?' That would be so cool!" Kaoki exclaimed looking around.
"What are you looking for, Kao?" Yuue asked following Kaoki's gaze.
"Maybe there are hidden cameras? I don't know, it was just a thought." Kaoki replied, looking at the security cameras on the poles, "Do you think the government is playing with us as their pawns?"
"You are your big imagination, I wish you could use the amount of energy you use to imagine stuff for studying. Like imagine the high grades you would be getting if you studied so much." Yuue pointed out as she shook her head. Mizuka stiffled a laugh, knowing that Kaoki spent most of his time either hanging out with his other friends or sleeping.
"Let's go to the hospital, I doubt that there won't be people outside of Shinjuku. Maybe it's because it's a weekday and many people have work to do. We shouldn't worry so much." Mizuka looked around her surroundings, trying to find someone that could help them.
"Let's find a hospital, then we can go find people." Kaoki helped Yuue with stabilizing Hajito, "Let's go. I think I saw a map nearby on the way to the station."
Each person's footsteps echoed in the pavement below them. The eerie silence remaining the same, no one dared to say a peep, too scared to say anything. The same thoughts filled each of their head: Where was everything? Is everyone okay?
"There's a map!" Kaoki pointed to a map next to the bus stop. The map seemed old and rusty but it seemed good enough, "Here's the hospital, we go, uhm-"
"North." Yuue said cutting Kaoki off, "We should head that way to arrive at the hospital. It shouldn't be that far." Yuue claimed as she started moving, "Haji, tell me if your arm hurts very badly." She looked at the younger boy who was making faces to endure the pain, "Hey, you okay?"
"Sort of, the more the time passes, the more I feel my arm's pain." Hajito groaned at the pain his arm was creating, "I'm sorry I'm making you guys do all of this. If I had listened to Kao-"
"Hey, none of that, Haji." Mizuka interupting Hajito's negative rant, "We're your friends and we're here for a reason. So, don't you ever worrying about you causing porblems for us."
"Thanks, Mizu." Hajito sends a small smile towards Mizuka. Mizuka sends a smile back and patts his head.
After a couple of minutes in silence and walking in the summer heat of Tokyo, Hajito starts groaning loudly.
"What happened, Hajito? Are you okay?" Yuue asks in a panicked tone, looking at Hajito's face. His face was pale and abnormaly sweaty, "Hold on, Kao. Let's set him down on the ground. It may ease his pain just by a little." She suggested as she lowered Hajito on to the ground carefully with Kaoki.
"We should have a change of plans." Kaoki says while looks around them.
"What do you mean?" Yuue asks, looking up to Kaoki.
"Mizu and I should go get some medics from the hospital. You and Haji stay here so Haji can rest for a while." Kaoki suggested, looking at Mizuka, who was right next to him.
"But what if there's no one at the hospital. We've been walking for a while now and we haven't spotted a single person so far." Mizuka glancing around her worriedly, "Something's off guys. It doesn't feel normal."
"What do you mean, Mizu?" Yuue looks at Mizuka and back at Kaoki.
"I mean, after the black out our phones haven't worked, the air conditioner I tried to turn on didn't work either. Also, look around us, all the shops are dark too! The stop lights don't work and I don't know if you've noticed but the cars are all stopped. No one's in there, some trunks are open, windows are open, something's really off guys." Mizuka explained pointing at all the things around them.
"Mizu, let's not get so pesimistic about this. We have to think optimistic for times like this." Kaoki said, patting Mizuka's shoulders.
"Stop trying to ignore the truth, that's what's going to hurt us all at the end. You can't try to ignore the fact that something is going on, Kao!" Mizuka shouted at Kaoto. As soon as she saw Kaoto make a hurt face, she noticed what she had done, "I, I'm sorry, Kao. I d, didn't meant to." She apologized.
"No, it's fine. I mean, it's true, we can't ignore the fact that something is going on. I felt it too." Kaoki agreed, nodding his head to signal Mizuka that he was not mad at all.
"Then what do we do?" Yuue asked, still sitting on the ground next to Hajito, "I mean, Haji's arm isn't going to magically heal itself. We need something to suport his arm." She said looking at Hajito with sorrowful eyes. She didn't want to touch him and make him in greater pain, "I don't know if this is going to help in any way but I have an idea." She looked at both Mizuka and Kaoki, "Kao, lend me your outerwear you were wearing earlier."
"Here." Kaoki took off the checkered shirt off of his waist and held it out to Yuue, "But, what are you trying to do with that, Yuu?"
"Watch and observe." Yuue took the shirt and wrapped it around Hajito's arm, carefully. Hajito bit his lip, to keep in the pain, "Tell me when it hurts. I'm not a doctor but the only way to help you is to stablize it for now." She ties the sleeves at Hajito's shoulder to make it similar to a sling.
"Thanks, Yuu. It really hurts bending but I'll manage." Hajito replies weakly, "We should find a train or something to go home."
"Haji's right. We should go back to the train station to find our family." Mizuka pulled Yuue up, "Let's go home."
"I'm hungry, are you hungry?" Yuue asked giggling, as if on cue Mizuka's stomach rumbled, "Okay, let's go home!" Yuue shouted as she stretched up in the air, "Here, let me help you up." Yuue held out her hands to Hajito.
"Wait, I hear something." Hajito stopped Yuue from trying to help him up. Someone's footsteps could be heard in the distance, "Flip flops?"
"What did you just say?" Kaoki asked, looking at Hajito in an odd way.
"Flip flops. Someone wearing flip flops is coming our way." Hajito looked behind him. A man with white hair wearing a white hood came walking towards them.
"I didn't mean to eavesdrop on your conversation but, there is no way to go home. We're in the Boderland."
