"Okay, so maybe we can go see a movie at the drive-in?" Zelda suggests.

Dante shakes his head, "God no! It's like 27 degrees out!" We're all seated in the middle of the school's empty lecture hall, trying to make plans for the weekend. We've got our feet kicked back as we snack on food from the cafeteria. We don't usually go there during the winter, and no one eats outside this time of the year either, so it's more crowded than normal.

"How about ice-skating? We could go to Steinberg Ice Rink. They're open until like four in the morning," Dante looks to me and Dallas.

"I'm down. How about you, Jo?" Dallas looks to me and gives me an odd glare.

He probably wants me to tell the truth on my opinion about going out, "Yeah, sure." I don't want the group to think I'm a party pooper or anything. I can do this, all I'm doing is going to a public skate rink with my friends where there will be undoubtedly several people who will witness me attempt skating. The last time I went skating was when I was three years old, supposedly I was a natural, but I don't believe that. I'll probably fall as soon as I get on the ice.

No, I need to stop. I should just focus on right now.

"Sick, so maybe Friday night?" Zelda looks at us all for assurance.

I hear Dallas sigh, "Ugh, I have practice that day." My heart skips a beat, perfect.

"Okay, Saturday then. I know you don't have plans, Jo. Dallas? Dante?" She stares us down and tucks her short, bleached hair behind her ear.

Dante stands up as the lunch bell rings loudly, "Sounds great. I'll talk to you guys later."

"Where are you going?" Dallas asks him. Usually we all walk to our classes together, separating as we go. Dante turns around and smiles. His perfectly white teeth compliment his mixed skin. Dante is a very attractive sophomore. His his sharp jawline, prominent lips, and the perfectly proportioned nose make a lot of the girls in high school swoon over him. Some have tried to catch his attention, but they all have failed. It's probably because they think he's straight.

"A mister awaits me," Dante skips away. Zelda ooh's, causing Dallas and I to laugh.
