I wasn't demanding

I wasn't demanding. I never asked for anything but with Matthew, I could feel that changing. With Baekhyun asleep and my father knocked out from the tiring day he had, Matthew was in the kitchen and I made my way to him.

"My time," I blurted out, Matthew looking at me in surprise. He had been wiping the table over and over again, humming to himself. "My time, Matthew. I need my time."

"What do you want to do?" He asked and I shrugged, my throat going dry. "Whatever you want, we'll do it."

"I just want you beside me."

He smiled, nodding. That was how I ended up under the sheets, Matthew sitting on my bed. I lifted up my hand, Matthew placed his fingers against mine before he intertwined his fingers with mine. He lifted my hand and kissed the back of my palm. I loved how I felt it, Matthew rubbing my hand in small circles.

"I'm worried," he finally said. "I'm worried about what is going to happen to you when I leave. That's what I'm most worried about."

"Then don't leave," I found myself saying. "Tell them you want to be a ghost for the rest of your life and stay here."

I knew I wasn't making any sense, Matthew's face going unreadable.

"Bora." He scooted closer, a hand brushing my hair away from my face. He cupped my face and I nuzzled his palm. "It doesn't work that way besides... If I stay, one day I'll see you age. I'll see you have a family on your own. You'll go on with your life while I'll be stuck here. I can't see you do that."

He was right.

"Ghosts and humans aren't meant to be together."

He didn't have to say it.

I knew Matthew Lee was in love with me and I with him.

Days past by fast and by the third day, I already felt like Matthew was going to leave. I began to take over Sehun's drunk sessions with Matthew, sitting in with them and drinking with them on my bedroom floor. It was a different alcohol every day. Matthew, however, said he wanted to do something special and Kyungsoo and I brought him over to an ice cream shop to which he said was his father's.

Michael Lee was sitting by the counter, the male looking up to stare at Matthew straight on the face when he broke into a smile. He recognized me and Kyungsoo, the male waving at us before he welcomed all three of us.

"H-Hi..." Matthew was nervous and Michael greeted him kindly before he leaned forward.

"You look very familiar, son," Michael commented, frowning at Matthew's features. "Have you been hanging out with my son? A few people have told me that they have seen you at the Dream café."
