It had never occurred to me how good Baekhyun's memory was until now because, at the mention, I remember vaguely Granger saying that Jeno's skepticism was astronomical. We had taken away his memories before, just as we did with Haechan and upon running our theories with the demons, Lucifer verified that Shields were indeed, very rare.

Too rare, in fact.

Humans were vessels of souls and most likely, there were more people who are counters than buffers because each and every human is most likely in tune with their instincts. Even when it comes to ghosts, Shields were simply souls that were rock hard and strong to the core; mentally and emotionally. Isolated from everything beyond their physical grasp.

"I feel like the demons are our professors in university and we're here to just report to them," Kyungsoo complained to me when I went to wash my face. The lack of sleep was beginning to creep up on me. Matthew had gone with Robert and Pete to get Lee Jeno as Haechan snoozed in the corner.

It took a while, Matthew later on telling me that Lee Jeno wasn't tagged. He didn't need to be, he wasn't a very interesting character for the afterlife management team to care about him.

Lee Jeno was surprised.

More than surprised to see Lee Haechan on the couch, the male saying that he came with Robert and Pete because he was no stranger to the two.

"I know that if they're in Korea, you are too, but the question is... What are you doing here? I thought you were in Bali!" he exclaimed, Haechan raising up a hand to explain. "And Kim Bunny just fractured her ankle, I don't have time for this!"

"Look, Jeno—" Haechan began and Peniel, knowing the time we would waste, simply stepped forward and placed a hand on Jeno's head. We watched the rush of memories leaving Jeno as breathless as Haechan, if not even more, the male rolling on the ground and hitting one of the table legs. "Yeah, it hurts. Let it go, let it go."

"Ow, ow!" Jeno groaned, his arms tensing. Another rerun of what happened to Haechan and before we knew it, Jeno was walking back and forth, the male pointing at the demons as if trying to understand who they were. "You're telling me that you all are demons? Really? What can you do?"

He was taunting them, which wasn't a very smart thing to do but with a skeptic like Jeno, it would be way harder trying to persuade him unlike Haechan. We were lucky the demons were kind, a trait people would not usually associate with demons, that they simply stared at him.

They were used to it, most probably and under Haechan's command, Jeno had plastered his butt onto the couch.

"No questions, just follow orders," Haechan said and Jeno huffed. Another thing that did not change would be the sense of ownership Haechan had over Jeno and I wish that wouldn't stay, Jeno glaring at his friend. "Now, let's go."

Not another question asked, Jeno had stood up and reached for the items on the table as Haechan told him to. With a press, he kept his finger there, both of us waiting for him to knock out when he blinked.
