Park Chanyeol was exhausted, the tall and lanky high schooler reaching up to massage his shoulders that were aching. He stalked down to the lunchroom to grab a bottle of water to quench his thirst, his big eyes scanning the lunchroom for any of his friends—Friends, he thought to himself as he scoffed. More like a bunch of students that he could co-exist with.
He had known Sehun and Kai for quite some time, the two males being his childhood friend and the nature of their business has always been similar. Chanyeol's parents lived off their connections with the Oh's and the Kim's and he had always somehow felt inferior to his friends. The divorce between his parents didn't help and Chanyeol believed that it was his fault.
He sighed and shook his head, walking to pay for the water before thinking to himself that the swimming pool competition was nearing. Park Chanyeol wanted to get away from home—his father that wasn't bad. He was just a lot.
Park Chanyeol flickered his eyes to the side to see that his idiotic friends were by the football field. Byun Bora was nowhere to be found but he was sure he saw a glimpse of her and Do Kyungsoo from Class A when he had walked to the cafeteria. He saw a bunch of booths set up and diverged himself from them, he had no interest in such clubs.
Park Chanyeol began to stalk back into the classroom, the male finally reaching the floor when he saw a small figure over his bag. He stopped, hearing a clang and when he stepped forward, he saw that it was Byun Baekhyun—the smaller framed male trying to attach something to his bag.
"What do you think you're doing?" He asked when he heard a huff and Baekhyun whirled around, his eyes wide open. His jaw dropped down, Baekhyun stuttering softly when Chanyeol glowered at him. He pushed Baekhyun slightly away when he saw that Baekhyun had attached one of his bracelets onto Chanyeol's backpack.
Baekhyun lowered his head, pressing his lips together.
"What—"
"I just thought that you would need it!" Baekhyun said, raising his eyes and jingling his wrists. Chanyeol swatted the younger male's arm away. "Suho hyung said you always go to the swimming pool! It's dangerous, Park Chanyeol!"
Park Chanyeol couldn't help but give out a huff of annoyance.
Who was he to tell him that it was dangerous when he swam almost every day?
Never past 5 pm, but that was going to change very soon.
Chanyeol grabbed his bag, throwing it over his shoulder and turning away.
"I don't know what you're trying to do, jingle boy. But I will never join your stupid club," he said, strutting to the door. When he turned, he saw Baekhyun making a face at him through the classroom window. He didn't know much about Baekhyun; all he knew was that Bora and her brother had pretty weird rumors surrounding them and he walked down the stairs to head to the swimming pool.
The bracelets attached to his backpack jingled and Chanyeol let out a sigh, looking down at it before reaching to touch the beads. Without realizing it, Chanyeol chuckled to himself.
Little did Park Chanyeol know that he would be needing much more than the bracelets Baekhyun gave him very soon.
