[Transition]

Night had fallen and after witnessing a very jolly Baekhyun move in and quite a disgruntled Chanyeol since he would not be living in the guest room alone anymore, I suggested them getting their own apartment.

"Nonsense!" Matthew piped up, giving me a look. "The more the merrier!"

Matthew and I held a gaze, Matthew winning since my eyes began to tear up and he didn't blink at all. These were the things that reminded me that he wasn't human. He didn't sleep, he hardly had to eat and he just wasn't like all of us.

While I went back to handling a few tasks that my work had thrown at me, Matthew's phone kept repeatedly ringing, Baekhyun and Chanyeol eating some ramen in the kitchen.

"Who are you talking to?" I asked, Matthew telling me that it was Mark.

"He went to his basketball game with Haechan. Johnny went out with a girl named Chloe who was supposed to be his date but Mark said it's just funny and—" He squinted at the text. "Haechan disappeared and I have no idea where he is now."

A couple of pings.

"Oh, holy moly."

"Why? What's wrong?"

"He texted me all that a couple of hours ago but look at this." He stood up and showed me the screen. Mark had texted him a couple of sentences that were hard to make out. "What does this mean? U-Less than sign' dUNw?"

He said each letter out and I frowned.

"Why is he talking like that?"

"U-Less than sign D-U-N-W?" Baekhyun asked. "That means "I'm fine."

"What? How does that mean, 'I'm fine'?" Chanyeol demanded.

"Look at the keyboard." Baekhyun shrugged, whipping out his phone. "U is beside the less-than sign, D is beside F, etc. I type that way when I'm drunk."

"Oh, no wonder. I'm sure I've seen you text me a couple of times with jumbled up letters."

"Not jumbled. They have meaning." Baekhyun frowned at Chanyeol. "Besides, it's just because when I get drunk, my eyeballs shake."

"I have to see him," Matthew said hastily. "All I got from that conversation is that Mark is drunk. Why would he be drunk?"

"Probably a Muffin issue, Matthew." I breezed, Matthew making a face.

"Shame on her. Well, what are you guys waiting for? Let's go!"

"I still have a few things to—" I began but then one look at my brother and Chanyeol on their feet, I knew I had to go along. "Fine, fine."

One look at my apartment that everything was fine, I had written Baekhyun's name on the laptop and left the screen open for Suho in case he came back. He had been distant and I knew he was hovering close to his fiancé.
