Chapter 14
Lucy and Remy, still having that adrenaline rush from the crow court showdown, took a moment to sit down and enjoy the light breeze before heading to Jerry’s house. Lucy had a suspicion, but she was okay with wherever Remy wanted to go.
Lucy glanced over at Remy, who seemed to be either very tired or dreading something. Actually, on second thought, Remy appeared to be a little nervous!
“Heya pal, something on your mind?” Lucy turned to him in a non-threatening matter.
"Wuh-uh- noo? Definitely not.. ha ha" Remy said, laughing awkwardly.
Well, that's a lie, Lucy thought to herself. C’mon, we all know.
“Welp anyways,” Lucy said while getting up to stretch her legs, “we should get going again to Jerry’s house.”
"Yeah!" Remy said, clearly happy the subject changed, and maybe also for another reason.
-OUTSIDE JERRY'S HOUSE-
Remy and Lucy arrived outside Jerry's house. Lucy had already positioned herself outside the house since there was no way in hell she was fitting in there. And in no way in hell is she going to go inside the house as a random cat who doesn’t live there. There were people inhabiting the space after all.
When Remy got outside Jerry's mousehole, he noticed there was something different about the door, but he couldn't quite place it.
Wait a minute, the entire door was a different color! What had happened to make Jerry replace his whole-ass door?
Well, not like he could do anything about that. Maybe he could ask Jerry. He raised a shaky hand to the door. Not like he was nervous though, definitely not. Nope.
He knocked on the door, loud enough for Jerry to hear, and then stood back to wait. Eventually, the door creaked open, slightly crooked. Clearly, it was not attached by a professional.
Jerry, this time in a pink maid outfit, was behind the door.
"R-Remy-kun?!" Jerry's face immediately flushed, full of blush, and being in a rush, he stammered out, "I didn't know you were stopping by- I didn't have time to get ready- djdieodjd?"
Besides Jerry speaking the verbal equivalent of a keyboard smash, Remy felt similar to him. Wait no, he was just nervous about seeing his friend, yeah!"
Jerry invited Remy in, and while they were walking inside the humble abode, Lucy peeked inside through the window, witnessing Jerry in all of his frilly, strawberry pink glory.
"Now what the fuck kinda kinky shit is this?" she muttered under her breath, being extra careful to not be heard by them.
Walking around the house, she found a convenient peep hole in the paneling of the house. It was almost as if this hole was meant just for her! She plopped down on the grass to watch this event unfold. This isn't illegal right? Nah nah it’s fine probably!
Jerry and Remy slowly walked into the house, and after the door closed, just stopped and stared at each other like 🙂
After an awkward silence that went one second too long, Jerry interjected, "So, uh, you come here often?"
"Uh, no, but wouldn't you know that? hehe..."
Ohhh my god, please just say something like. Not awkward, like the weather?? or like NOT BE AWKWARD IN GENERAL THIS IS PHYSICALLY PAINFUL, Lucy thought to herself.
"So, uh, this outfit here, um, it looks very detailed and full of craftsmanship, where'd you uh, get it?" Remy asked, very painfully awkward.
"Oh, uh, well I made it myself, so um, thank you?!"
"Wait really? I didn't know you could sew! That's so cool! Hey, maybe you could make me a scarf or something?" As if the heavy awkwardness was suddenly alleviated, Remy showed genuine interest in Jerry’s lesser known hobby.
Oh? Something's happening? It's about time. Damn, I wish I had made popcorn just for this.
Jerry, now smiling like an idiot while still blushing, gestured Remy to a corner of the room. What first appeared as an overstuffed bookshelf was actually a shelf filled with an assortment of fabrics and sewing supplies. And on the floor, there was a tiny yet mighty sewing machine that he'd had for about 12 years. The machine, of course, was also decorated with pink, frilly lace and hearts. The decorations looked recent.
Remy was in amazement. There were a few sewing projects still in the making, a few looking abandoned, with one of them potentially being another maid outfit.
“Woah, it’s quite fitting that a cute little maid has a cute little sewing workspace...” Remy’s voice lowered suddenly when getting to that "cute maid” part, so suddenly that Jerry was wondering what he said.
“Huh? I didn’t catch that second part, what did you say?” Jerry had his ear towards Remy’s direction, and Remy briefly blushed worryingly.
“I- uh that’s all I said. That it’s quite fitting... and I just lost my train of thought after that...”
Remy was trying to hold it together so that Jerry didn’t think he said anything weird. Nonetheless, Remy was way better at hiding his inner dialogue than Jerry.
Was he like, checking out the dress I'm wearing? Huh??? Jerry thought.
Wait, Lucy thought, does Remy like cute submissive maids or some shit? I thought he liked more of the non-submissive ones. Or maybe he was just faking that? Guess I don't know him as well as I thought..
“So anyways, what material and color do you want your scarf?” Jerry asked him while leaning against the shelf, his fat ass facing towards Remy. While Remy was actively avoiding looking down at that ass, he thought of how he wanted the scarf.
“Fleece.”
“Ooookay, what color?” Jerry asked while looking through the shelf for fleece.
“I guess yellow would do, just like the color of the emoji of the prostate cancer meme in the beginning of this chapter.”
“What?”
“I said yellow, just like the color of cheese.”
Jerry chuckled to himself in a teasing manner.
“Like cheese?? You’re such a nerd for that, you know?”
“Oh uhh… I can do another color if that’s better...”
“Nono- NO I didn’t mean to insult you Remy-kun, it was just a bit of friendly teasing you know~”
Both giggled to themselves, relieving some of the previous nervousness in the air. Remy sat back and watched as Jerry diligently got to work on his cheese scarf.
Ugh, this is cheesy but at least it's not awkward anymore. Lucy thought, rolling her eyes. I need to help Remy out and give him some smooth one-liners.
About 20 minutes later, Jerry finished the scarf. Remy was checking around his mousehole unaware of the completion of the scarf. Jerry called out to him.
“REMY-KUUN, YOUR SCARF IS DOONE!~”
When Remy got back to the room, he saw a fluffy, mustard-yellow scarf with tasseled edges, and with brown polka-dots sewn on.
Wow, it really does look like cheese, Remy thought to himself.
“It’s perfect.”
