"Looks uninhabited," said Caspian as he looked at the island they were approaching.

"But of the lords followed the mist East, they would have stopped here." He hoped that they would find something.

"Could be a trap." Drinian spoke warily after what had happened at the last stop they'd made.

"Or it could hold some answers. Caspian?" Edmund said it as he looked on at the seemingly empty island.

"We'll spend the night on shore, scour the island in the morning." Caspian said definitively.

"Aye, Your Majesty." Drinian said.

Edmund went back to the main deck and found Madelyn with Reepicheep.

Madelyn was standing with a crossbow in her hands and a determined glint in her eyes. Her hair, which usually fell in waves over her shoulders was tied up high in a ponytail.

Reepicheep was speaking to her as if he were coaching her.

"No! No! Do not point it towards your feet. Do you want to lose a leg?" The mouse yelled at the girl who flinched at his voice.

"Okay, okay." She positioned it higher, aiming in front of her.

"Okay, remind me why you won't let me use a loaded crossbow?" She spoke without taking her eyes off the weapon.

"You're just learning. With a real arrow you would've killed yourself ten times over already." Madelyn huffed at his words.

"I wasn't that bad." She said it more to herself.

Something on the other side of the ship caught Reepicheep's eye. "Okay, I'll be right back. Do not do anything with the crossbow until I'm back. I mean it. Don't." Reepicheep jumped off the ledge we was standing on.

Edmund chuckled at the scene and approached the pouring girl.

"Wow, you might actually be worse with a crossbow than you are with a bow and arrow." He leaned on the wall next to her with a smirk on his lips.

Madelyn rolled her eyes before turning to him. "Why does everyone think I'm bad at this?" She held the crossbow in one arm and sighed.

"Maybe because you are," He crossed his arms over his chest. Edmund's eyebrow raised as he looked at the girl that he adored so much.

"Oh and I suppose you are amazing with a crossbow?" She cocked an eyebrow and looked at him.

"Better than you. You do realize I spent 15 years in Narnia, right? I practiced with basically every weapon we had." He pushed off the wall, standing up straighter next to the girl.

Standing next to her he couldn't help but notice something. Had she gotten shorter? No, that was a stupid thought. He'd grown taller. How could someone get shorter?

He was right. It wasn't too obvious, but when he stood next to her, he was taller than her now than he used to be a year ago.

"You know, I will never get used to your ego. It's huge. I don't know how anyone puts up with you." She had a small smile on her face. Although she said the opposite, she didn't mind spending time with him.

"And it should be. I am a king of Narnia." She rolled her eyes and put the crossbow back down.

"So are we finally going to stop somewhere. I feel like I might start getting seasick."
