Chapter 40

Eli's POV

I missed her so much. It hurt to see her face oh her beautiful face! The day I broke up with her is the day I regret the most!

*flashback*

I stop by Jordyn's house just two hours before the junior prom I'm suppose to take her to. "C'mon man, you can do this! You know it'll crush her but if you want to date someone new you have to break up with her." I pep talk myself and force myself to walk up to the door. I knock on the door and Jordyn's mom answers. "Eli! You're early! Jordyn's already getting ready for the prom." She tells me. "I really need to speak to her." I say and she let's me in. I walk upstairs and knock on her bedroom door. "Jordyn? It's me, can I come in?" I ask. "Eli? Yah sure! I'm just doing my hair." She says and I open the door. I see her curling her hair with her dress laid across the bed and her shoes by the door. "Listen we need to talk." I say. "What's up, babe?" She asks me. "I...um...I'm not sure we should....um...be going to the prom together." I stutter. "What? Are you nervous about dancing because if so we don't have to dance! We're a couple Eli so we have to at least show up and be by each other." Jordyn informs me. "No I mean I think we should break up. I'm so sorry! It's just that I don't think we're right for each other and if we take this any farther I know we will get hurt." I say quickly and wait for her to respond. "Oh....well, if that's how you feel...um please leave! LEAVE!" She cries. "Jordyn-" I start but she cuts me off, "Just go!" She cries and I leave and run to my car.

Now it's too late. She is married and has kids. I wanted to get her back but she was already dating Luke and now there's no chance of us being together. Luke's a lucky man. He knew how special Jordyn is and didn't think twice about the relationship. My biggest regret is that she might be the ONE and I ruined it. She might be my true love but I'm not hers. She doesn't love me the way I love her. I know she loves me but only as a friend now. I ruined my life that day but I also gave her hers. I have her the opportunity to be with other guys, I gave her the opportunity to be with him. The twins are beautiful like their mother and it makes me sad to know that they're his and not mine. I should've been the one to get Jordyn pregnant not Luke. I get in my car and drive to the nearest bar. I sit down and put my head on the table. "Girl troubles?" The bar tender asks. "How'd you guess?" I ask slowly looking up. I instantly recognize the bar tender. "Wait? Eli? From school? Dude it's great to see you!" Grant says. "Grant! My bud! Hey man how you been?" I ask. "I've been good. Wow!" He says. "What?" I ask. "Oh nothing." He says. "It's just I never thought I'd see the great Eli Bowler-Goodman in a bar crying over a girl! Man, in high school you were such a player and got all the girls!" Grant says. "Yah, well, this one was the one and I lost her." I say with tears in my eyes. "Here! It's my own mix. Be careful it has a kick to it so drink slowly." He warns me handing me an interesting looking drink. I sip it and start coughing. "Gagh! Jeez! Man that has a huge kick! Woo!" I laugh. "I call it The Break Up Cure." Grant tells me and I laugh. "Wow! Well it works!" I say and take another sip. "How much do I owe you?" I ask Grant. "On the house! Go get your girl man." Grant says and I suddenly feel that pain of lose again. I take a huge sip and nearly faint. "Here's to getting the girl!" I cheer and drown my sorrows in drinks.
