Dae went upstairs after the small conversation with Jeongin, her mind running with why she keeps fainting.
"Foxy should be able to figure out what's wrong with me, even if he's taking a little longer than usual."
As she was about to head to bed, a knock on her door stopped her motions.
"Come in," She called.
The door opened, and the action exposed Felix, with tears in his eyes.
"Lixxie? What's wrong?"
He quickly touched his face, not knowing he was crying. He noticed the tears and swiftly wiped them away. His eyes were still puffy, his nose was still runny, and his cheeks were still red. All signs were pointing towards his oppression, minus the tears themselves.
"Nothing, baby. Just my thoughts got a little too serious."
"Do you want to talk about it?" Dae made room on her bed for him to sit, patting the spot down to motion him to sit in it.
Felix shook his head, but walked over to Dae's spot and sat down. He placed his head on her shoulder and began to cry again. Dae said nothing, just letting him silently sob.
Once he had calmed down slightly, Dae spoke up.
"Lixxie, please tell me what's wrong."
"I, I can't- I can't tell you."
Dae understood what was going on was clearly important and decided instead of pressing on finding out why he was so upset, she would just be the comforting ace he needed her to be.
"Do you wanna stay in here for the night?" Felix nodded and Dae situated herself in bed and he followed, still crying.
Felix cried himself to sleep that night.
The next morning Felix acted like nothing happened that night. He was gone from her room before Dae even woke up and didn't mention anything about what happened to her or anybody.
At school, Noah approached Dae about what happened the day previous.
"Hey, I'm just really sorry about the whole tattling on you thing yesterday. It was really immature of me and I shouldn't have done it. I didn't know it would cause you to faint."
Dae smiled and shook her head. "It's nothing, it was wrong of me to do it in the first place. Also, the fainting and what happened aren't correlated at all. So don't think you caused that."
At lunch, Stray Kids were being weird. They were very edge and cautious of their surroundings.
"What's going on with you guys?" Dae asked perking her brow at them.
They jumped at her question, almost as if they weren't aware of how timid they were being.
"Nothing Dae," Minho declared. He was the least fearful out of the eight, probably his spy-like abilities making him hide his intentions well.
Dae rolled her eyes and got up, making eye contact with Jinyoung as well, telling him non-verbally to get up as well. Jinyoung followed her silent orders and they walked together -almost awkwardly- towards the exit, ignoring the muted pleads of her fathers to come back.
"Why are we leaving them?" Jinyoung questions once they left the break room.
"They're hiding something, and I'm tired of trying to fish it out of them."
"So where are we going?"
"To Yunseo, we've left her with her girlfriend too long. Who knows what they could be doing."
They walk to the cafeteria and find Yunseo and Haneul sitting alone, chatting happily about whatever comes to their minds. Dae and Jinyoung approached them, waving and smiling as if they weren't annoyed at Dae's fathers.
"Hey, guys!" Dae greeted, a bright smile on her face.
"Dae!" They both replied, reflecting the same expression Dae had.
"And Jinyoung of course," Yunseo giggled, not forgetting the poor boy.
"How are you guys?" Dae asked.
"We're doing good, our 6 month anniversary is coming up," Yunseo giggled, looking at her girlfriend with such adoration.
Dae made an "ooh" sound and smiled, proud of her best friend for finding a person who made her so happy.
The four of them caught up on life during their lunchtime, talking of old memories and making new ones.
It was late at night - about one in the morning - when Dae woke up from her sleep to the sound of yelling. She crawled out of bed and waited by her closed door, listening to anything she could.
"Dae is not coming along."
"She's too young."
"She's not a member of Stray Kids."
"It's not her place."
She opened her door and heard all the talking come to a halt in the house. It was silent.
Slowly, she descended down the stairs and saw all eight of her family members at the meeting table (which was just the dining room table with a fancy name).
"What's going on?" She questioned, tilting her head to the side.
"Dae, go back to bed," Jisung commanded, pointing to the stairs.
She shook her head and asked again. "What's going on? I heard my name upstairs. I want to know what's been going on all day."
"It's none of your damn business. Go upstairs," Jisung stated again. Clearly, he was the one that was instructed to deal with Dae if she would dare come downstairs as she did now.
"No, it is my business. Someone tell me what's going on now. And if I hear one more peep out of Jisung saying 'go upstairs,' I might shoot myself in the head."
"It's a mission JYP gave us," Chan cut in.
"You couldn't have mentioned that earlier?" Dae deadpanned. "And you're discussing this at... One in the morning?"
"Yes, now will you please go back to bed?"
Dae rolled her eyes once more, but turned around and walked up the stairs. She heard the sighs of relief from her fathers and she knew she had been lied to at that moment. She didn't turn around, however. She just kept walking, making note that she would get back at them.
However, they were the ones that got back at her.
