"What was real, sweet thing?"
Dae smiles and shakes her head. "It was nothing. I just apparently really miss my dads."
"Ah, you're dreaming about them. Normal, my dear."
Dae nods, sighing. "I wish they took more responsibility for me."
"Alright, class, I want a volunteer to spar with me," Dae announces. Her class was learning more in-depth about close combat.
Multiple students raised their hands, but Dae called on a girl the class knew as the "Runt." She was small and most of the class didn't know how she got to tier one; since she was a little weak as well. But nonetheless, she was determined. Determined to improve as well as prove herself worthy. Dae respected that, so she gave the girl any chance to prove herself as she could.
The girl was named Aeri, and she fought hard against Dae.
Jinyoung while they were sparing would give instruction and technique advice to Aeri and the class.
But Jinyoung also kept an eye on Dae. He knew Dae would push herself too much if Jinyoung didn't stop her. Even if it was just sparing.
However, Jinyoung didn't expect Dae to start screaming, gripping her head, screaming 'time out.'
Aeri stopped her advances immediately, internally panicking she did something to horribly harm her beloved teacher.
Jinyoung runs to Dae, knowing this is another one of her headaches. He shoves Aeri out of the way, just quick enough to catch Dae, who passed out.
Aeri looked at Jinyoung, their eyes both blown wide.
Jinyoung slowly set Dae down on the sparing mat and ran out of the classroom, to the next classroom over, who was Jackson. Thankfully, he was on his break.
"Watch my class, Dae needs to see Jeongyeon."
Jackson nodded and immediately walked over to the next class over, where, in fact, see Dae passed out on the mat.
Aeri was crying now, hunched over Dae, repeating sorry over and over.
Jinyoung smiled at Aeri as he was picking up Dae. "It wasn't your fault. follow me, will you?"
Aeri quickly got up and followed Jinyoung down the hall.
"Dae started to get these horrible headaches. They make her pass out."
"Did I cause the headache?" Aeri asked in a small voice.
"No, they happen randomly. It wasn't your fault at all."
"Do you know why they happen?"
Jinyoung shook his head. "They just do. I.N was trying to figure it out before he disappeared. And now the job has been passed down to Jeongyeon. But she's had no luck either."
Jinyoung dropped off Dae in the bright infirmary, briefly explaining to Jeongyeon Dae's state.
"I miss her smile," Seungmin sighed.
"I miss her contagious laugh," Hyunjin says.
"I miss her..."
I miss her...
Dae shot awake, looking for Stray Kids once more. But her dreams deceived her. Again, she was only found with Jeongyeon mindlessly scrolling through her phone.
"Dae, you're awake! How are you feeling?"
"Fine," Dae responds, clearly disappointed.
"What's wrong, my love?"
"Do you know what's wrong with me?"
Jeongyeon shook her head. "I believe it to be awful chronic migraines."
"No."
"No?" Jeongyeon repeated.
"It's not. It's a deeper issue," Dae's eyes started to well. "I.N was doing tests every day on me, he was going to get to the bottom of it."
"Oh Dae," Jeongyeon tried to sympathize
"I love you Jeongyeon, but you don't care about me as much as I.N did. He broke down because of how bad he wanted to find a cure for me. I just want him back."
I miss her...
Dae's episodes were getting worse and worse, happening 1-2 times a day now. And every time it happened, she would pass out and dream of Stray Kids. Not a single time did she not hear the vivid voices of her fathers.
Jinyoung was getting more and more concerned the more it happened. He wanted the best for Dae, and for her to be healthy, therefore, this was his worse nightmare.
"Dae, I really think you should stay home from now on," Jinyoung recommended.
Dae had just woken up from her episode and she was still disoriented. But she understood enough of what Jinyoung said to shake her head in refusal.
"I'm fine, Jinyoung."
"You've been passing out left and right, sunshine. You're worrying me. I think it's for the best for you to stay home?"
"And do what, Jinyoung?!" Dae explodes. "Do nothing but worry about what the fuck my fathers are doing? I will be better when I.N returns. He was working so hard on me, and then he just... left!!"
"I understand your frustration, but you shouldn't be taking it out on me, I only want the best for you."
"I miss them so much, Youngie. I've started to hear their voices in my sleep."
"You dream of them?"
Dae shakes her head. "It's more than that. And it's only when I pass out. The voices are so vivid, and I can't see their faces, it's just their voices I can hear. It's like they're right next to me while I'm passed out."
Jinyoung thought for a moment. He was no doctor, but he's a good, loving boyfriend. "How about... I watch you the next time you pass out."
"Jinyoung-"
"I know it's silly, but it could give you some peace of mind."
"I'm fine, Jinyoung. I like hearing their voices.
"whatever you say."
I miss her...
