"It should be any day now," An unfamiliar voice concluded.
Dae tried to blink her eyes open but to no avail.
"Is there any way we can speed this process up?" Felix asked.
...Felix?
"We've been waiting quite a while," Minho finished.
Minho?!
Dae began to thrash, attempting to wake herself.
"Dad! Please!" She struggled to scream. But there was no sound. I
And then there was nothing. Stray Kids' voices, the feeling, the lights; gone.
She had woken up in a dimly lit room she recognized. In the changing room of her own classroom, she was chained to the farthest point from the door. Nothing was covering her mouth, it didn't matter. This room was soundproof.
Both her wrists and ankles were chained to the wall. Locked with four different keys. She wasn't getting out of this on her own. There was nothing of use for her, not that that really mattered; her mobile function was beyond limited.
Her clothes were another thing she had noticed. They weren't the grudge, comfortable black aesthetic she had passed out it. She was in stereotypical hospital scrubs, the ones found in the infirmary. They were thin, but they kept her half warm.
She finally noticed her abdomen, it ached but didn't jeopardize her comfort too much. Her clothes were covering it but she could only assume the wound had been stitched up. It felt sterilized.
Dae finally looked up from examining the locks on her body. On the door, there was something written in bold.
"An average human can live a month without any food in their system. Let's test that, shall we?"
Dae shook her head wildly. This couldn't be the end.
She could hear outside, Jinyoung was teaching. She began screaming for as long as her breath could take it, then repeat the process.
This was pointless, no one could hear a peep of her exigency.
"Jinyoung, may we meet in another timeline."
With the expected but mysterious absence of Dae, JYPE had practically fallen into shambles.
No one knew where Dae was, or what happened to her. Except for Mina.
When it comes to Dae, Mina knew almost everything.
Like almost all the JYPE staff, they knew the invasion was in relevancy to Stray Kids' disappearance. Because of this, Mina put together that Dae would be a key principle in bringing them back. She overheard when Yeji frantically told Dae to leave. Mina had also followed Dae as she fled down the stairs, to her hand-me-down car. Following that, she had to also witness when Dae was shot. All while remaining quiet, she owed that to Dae.
Mina didn't know where Dae was, and it was too suspicious to go searching. However, she wasn't too worried about Dae's health now. She knew JYP's plan, and it wasn't to kill her. Not yet. He was careful with how he handled her. He also made presumably, one of the BTS members tidy up her wounds.
She wanted to follow the seven men genuinely. However, it was far too much of a risk for the information she knew. The death of Mina would be too sacrificial to everyone.
Mina needed a way to get Stray Kids back, their arrival might be hazardous to themselves, but the lack of care they've shown from this rogue mission proves to Mina that they wouldn't mind the danger too much.
