A faint beeping noise, as well as low talking, was in the background of Dae's sleeping state. She was in a weird state of sleeping where she knew what was going on in the real world but was still very much asleep. She assumed the beeping was the heart monitor Jeongin probably connected her to, and the talking was Stray Kids, specifically, she heard Hyunjin's loud voice.

The cause of her fainting was unknown to even Jeongin, who spent his whole life studying everything not only for Dae, but for his job too. But specifically, so he's not in the dark about any issue and knows exactly how to handle the situation. The exact opposite of what he's feeling right now.

"How many times do I have to tell you, I don't know why she passed out."

"I.N," Chan huffed in annoyance, pinching the bridge of his nose. "You're the best doctor out there, I'd want to say in the world. And you cannot tell me why our daughter just passed out??"

"I ran all the tests in the book and she's perfectly healthy. Her food could be the reason, but she doesn't have the rest of the symptoms from a stomach bug. we'll talk to her about it when she wakes up."

"What about waking up?" Dae mumbled, her voice hoarse and still laced with sleep.

"Dae!" Chan and Jeongin both exclaimed.

"How are you feeling?"

Dae sat up, thinking for a moment. "I feel fine. Just hungry and very thirsty."

"Do you have any reason why you passed out like that? Changbin thinks it's his cooking and Hyunjin is still worried sick."

Dae shook her head. "It was so sudden I'm not sure."

Jeongin hummed, deep in thought. "I'm lost on this. I'm gonna stay up going over your tests. Chan, do you mind calling JYP stating Dae will be at work late tomorrow? I have to run tests on her tomorrow morning and compare them to today's."

Chan nodded and left Jeongin's office.

only then did Dae realize two things; there was no heart monitor connected to her, nor was it even out of the closet in which it's stored in. As well as Hyunjin was in the room, and apparently never was in Jeongin's office in the first place.

Dae was about to hop off the medical chair and hug Jeongin goodbye before Chan burst back in the room.

"Dae can't come into work late tomorrow, she has a meeting tomorrow with YoungDay about their first mission."

Dae's eyes brightened at the thought of a first mission as her own group.

"Well, if you want me to figure out why Dae passed out, I need those tests," Jeongin sighed, looking up from his papers.

"I'll get up early so you can get the tests in before school. Therefore you can either call in late or just stay home looking through results.'

Jeongin smiled, nodding his head. "We'll do that. I'll get you up bright and early for it."

"Deal!"

It was around 2am when Dae woke up feeling rather thirsty. She went downstairs, and to Jeongin's office, that's where the best water is, until she noticed his office light was still on.

She tapped on the door, slowly opening it. "Foxy? What are you doing awake?"

Jeongin peered up from his hunched-over state, his glasses slowly riding off his nose. "Dae? It's late, go back to bed."

"I could say the same thing to you, have you been looking over these tests all night?"

He nodded. "It's my job as a doctor and your father to find out why you passed out. But your tests all look normal. It makes no sense. I'm just so mad at myself," Jeongin saw as his eyes clouded with tears, and he tried his best to mask how much this upset him. But it failed. "This is exactly what I didn't want to happen. I don't want to be in the dark about your health. I spent my whole life studying anatomy just for all my knowledge to be chucked out the window." He took off his glasses and covered his face, a light sob erupting from him. "I just want to keep you safe, Dae. It's my job as your father."
