11 Pm is when Dae said goodnight to her parents; the clock read 5 Am now, and yet she still hadn't gotten a wink of sleep. She'd done everything to keep herself occupied during the long night: Organized her closet and her shoes, tried on 16 different hairstyles (14 turned out.. wearable), scrolled to the depths of social media, made her bed, cleaned her desk, and planned out lessons for the new class she was teaching.
She did try to sleep, up until 1:35 Am when she realized it was pointless. after that, she busied herself with the things above.
"TMT?" Chan asked, peeping into her room.
Dae flinched and whipped her head around to look at Chan. She thought she had been quiet, not wanting to wake any of the members up. "Chan," she sighed, exhausted from the lack of sleep she's getting and the scare of her father. "Did I wake you?"
He shook his head. "I got up to get water and saw that your light was on. Why are you awake?
"Like you said, 'too much thoughts'."
Chan made a sound of acknowledgment. "Teaching a class with Jinyoung a little nerve-wracking?" Dae nodded, refusing to make eye contact with Chan. "It's just the same as subbing, ya know?"
"It's not, Channie, it's my own class. I have always had the lesson plans already ready, and someone was there to help me and give me tips. But I'm supposed to be that position for Jinyoung."
"Jinyoung will need a little push and encouragement, but don't ever think of him as something to stress about. He wouldn't like that at all. Plus, he's a determined young boy, I think he'll get the hang of teaching rather quickly."
Dae cracked a smile at Chan's comment. "You're right," She sighed.
"I know I am, it's what I do as your father."
"You're my brother, Chan."
Chan lightly shoved Dae, giving her a playful glare. "I adopted you, I am your father."
"Whatever you say, buddy."
Chan got up and patted her head, a soft expression on his face. "Get some sleep, darling."
She tried once more, not falling asleep until about an hour later.
Deep eyebags were present on her face in the morning, but she was as active as ever, if not more than usual.
"Hyunjinnie!" Dae called from her room. "Can you pick an outfit for me? I can't choose."
Hyunjin rushed from his room, where he was only slipping on his shoes, to Dae's room. Dae never wants Hyunjin to choose her outfits, stating, 'She's too old for her dad picking out her clothes.' So he was rather excited to choose her 'The first day of official work' clothes.
He went with a chic and simple tracksuit. It was stylish and comfortable.
"The baby is finally working," Jisung teased, pinching Dae's cheeks. "I thought this day would never come."
"As much as we're gonna tease you, please remember we're all very proud of you, and if you need us to stop we will," Jeongin commented, a reassuring smile on his face.
Dae nodded her head, an adorably determined look present. "Thank you Foxy-"
"Foxy?" Jinyoung interrupted. "How many weird nicknames do you have?"
Dae lightly slapped Jinyoung's shoulder. "None of your business! I grew up calling them that since I really couldn't call them all dad, or else they would, and even I would get confused. So my four-year-old self gave them cute nicknames. They've just stuck."
