(While Elli's smoking a joint, Deva has practically put everything away in the proper place. He finds somewhere to sit down and take a break. Elli sees him.)
Elli: You're all done?
Deva: I think there are a couple of more things I need to put away, but for the most part I think I'm done.
Elli: Okay yeah, take a break, and we can get back to putting stuff away.
Deva: Yeah, that's what I'm doing.
Elli: I meant take a break with me, dummy.
Deva: What break are you taking? You haven't done any work since we got here.
Elli: I mean, as I see it, I was gonna smoke a J first and then hop onto it. Not my fault you jumped in first.
Deva: Wow, you are so responsible. (sarcasm)
Elli: I don't like my responsibility being made fun of. I do things on my own time, not your time. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't like it if someone tells you to do something when you feel like doing whatever you want right now.
Deva: Yeah, I think you got a point. I always prioritize what comes first and shit. Alright then, my bad.
Elli: Glad we're on the same page. Now come over here already.
Deva: (Walks over and sits down. Elli smokes one and passes it to Deva. Deva seems visibly shocked.) Wait. You're giving this to me?
Elli: Yeah. You never tried weed before, right?
Deva: No, not really.
Elli: Alright, go ahead. Try it.
Deva: What happens if I do?
Elli: Well, it's gonna be a surprise to me. (Deva is hesitant) Look, nothing bad's gonna happen to you. Nobody died when doing a little bit of weed. Just take a small toke if it helps. (Deva grabs the joint) Alright, so what you want to do is curl your lips backwards so you don't get any of your spit on it. Once you lock it, just inhale a bit of it deep into your lungs and hold it for a few seconds. Then you exhale. You got it?
Deva: Yeah, I think so. (Deva puts a joint in his mouth and inhales a small toke for the first time. As he exhales, he ends up coughing a lot. Elli starts giggling at him coughing.) What the hell? Why is my throat drying up?
Elli: You're about to get fucked, my friend. Don't worry about the dry throat. That's part of the experience.
Deva: Alright.
Elli: So, how do you feel?
Deva: I don't know. I feel nothing actually.
Elli: Go on, take another toke.
Deva: (Inhales another one) I feel my head getting lighter. I also feel a little cold.
Elli: Aww! Baby needs his blankie?
Deva: Fuck you, I can survive.
Elli: Now you're talking.
(Deva and Elli smoke up more. Elli starts showing him some breathing tricks she does. Deva and Elli laugh)
Deva: Man, you're crazy!
Elli: I know, I gotta do it again sometime.
Deva: Yeah....so.....the principal that left us here mentioned something about us being bright students. You know me, but it looks like I was right about you acing your courses and shit.
