It didn't take Steve that long to take Tony to his room. It was all nice and neat except for his bed since with what happened this morning.

"Whoa, your room is so tidy." Tony says.

"Is your room not?" Steve asked as he put Tony down on the ground.

"No. It is always messy. I try to tidy it up but I always end up making a mess again." Tony says and looks around.

Steve just smiled. There really is very little difference between adult Tony and child Tony. Though, Tony's attitude is gone. He doesn't seem to be narcissistic or sarcastic. He's not continuously making jokes anymore and he's far more innocent and loves to tell the truth instead of lying all the time. It's somewhat of a nice change.

"Here it is." Steve says as he pulls out his shield from under his bed.

"Whoa! So cool!" Tony says as he runs over to the shield.

"Do you like it?" Steve asked.

"Yeah! It's just like Dad described it! And like the blueprints I found!" He says as he touches the shield.

"I'm glad you like it." Steve says and sits on the bed as Tony looks at the shield.

"Did dad find you out of the ice?" Tony asked as he looked up at Steve.

"No. SHIELD found me." Steve says and watches the child.

"I thought dad would find you. He spends all his time looking for you." Tony says as he goes to pick up the shield, struggling to do so.

"Really?" Steve questioned and helped the child hold the shield.

"Yeah." Tony says, going very quiet now.

Steve noticed that Tony seemed very uncomfortable talking about Howard. But couldn't seem to understand why. He thought Howard was a good man. But he decided to change the subject anyway.

"Do you like the shield?" Steve asked, looking at Tony.

"I love it!" Tony says with a big smile on his face.

Steve smiled, glad that Tony seemed to quickly forget about it.

"What else would you like to do today Tony?" Steve asked.

-------Time Skip--------

Steve and Tony spent most of the day together, doing all sorts of activities that the small genius wanted to do. Steve didn't mind though. Tony seemed incredibly excited with everything they did. But he was also growing tired. At least that's a good thing since Tony would actually sleep in the night. He had heard from Clint that it is important to tire out children throughout the day and maybe let them nap if they need it. But Tony didn't seem to need the nap today.

It was starting to get late and Tony was growing tired. But he didn't want to go to bed just yet. He knew that Steve would do so if he told him that he was. So he decided to go look for one of the gods that he met earlier. He could use the cape as a blanket and snuggle close to them. He wandered around, not realising that he had caused Steve to panic from wandering out of sight.

He made it into the living room to find both gods there with a few other members, Loki reading a book and Thor playing a video game with Clint. No one seemed to notice that he had entered the room. He yawned a little and rubbed his eyes, walking over to Thor and climbing onto the couch next to him.

Thor finally noticed Tony and handed his controller over to Natasha so she could continue entertain Clint.

"What is wrong little one?" Thor asked, watching the child carefully.

" 'm tired..." Tony mumbled, looking at Thor.

"Would you like one of us to take you to bed?" Thor asked and Tony shook his head.

"No...I wanna sleep here..." Tony mumbled and Thor just decided not to argue.

Tony grabbed Thor's cape and wrapped it around himself before snuggling much closer to Thor. He rested his head against his arm and slowly closed his eyes, drifting to sleep.

Everyone had long since abandoned what they were doing to watch the sight. Well, all except Loki. He was too engrossed in his spell books.

"You should probably take him to bed. He would be more comfortable there." Natasha says to Thor.

"He did not want to go to bed and I can no longer move him without disturbing him." Thor says as he looks at the child curled up next to him, using his cape as a blanket.

Steve came running into the living room, seemingly looking for Tony. He sighed with relief when he saw that Tony was with Thor.

"He must've been really exhausted. But why didn't he tell me? I would have taken him to bed." Steve questioned.

"He probably doesn't like being alone when he sleeps Steve." Natasha says.

Tony had buried himself closer into Thor and whimpered a little.

"I don't think the little one is okay. He is clinging to me and I can feel wetness on my side." Thor says as he moves Tony so he could see what was happening.

Tony had tears falling down his face and was whimpering in his sleep.

"D-don't hurt me...P-please..." He whimpered and squirmed in Thor's hold.

Steve's eyes widened and he took Tony out of his arms, holding him close to his chest.

"He's having a nightmare." Steve says and leaves the room with Tony.

Steve wasn't sure if that was the best plan. But if little Tony was like adult Tony, he wouldn't want to be surrounded by everyone while having a nightmare. So, it was probably the best plan.

Tony shot awake, crying silent tears as he clung to Steve's chest. He didn't say a word for a while as Steve walked to a room.

"Don't worry. You're safe. You're in the tower with the avengers." Steve says as he opens the door to his room.

He laid down on the bed, still holding Tony close.

"Please don't leave me..." Tony mumbled after quite some time, sniffling.

"I'm not going to. Don't worry." Steve says.

"Promise?" Tony asked, looking up at Steve.

"Promise." Steve says. "Now, let's both try to get some sleep." He says, seeing Tony yawn and nod at him.

It took more time before Tony finally relaxed enough to close his eyes and fall asleep again. Steve wasn't long after Tony, holding the boy close to make sure he was safe.
