Kid Tony (Revamped)

Chapter 24 - Explanation

Once they had arrived within the Sanctum, Steve went to place Tony on the ground, only to feel him clinging tightly to his shirt. He heard a sniffle from the child and sighed, holding him close in his arms.

"Hey. It's okay. We'll be sure to visit Uncle Fury when we can." Steve said quietly as he looked at Tony.

Tony kept his face buried in Steve's shoulder, rubbing his face a little into the soldier's shirt. Steve could feel the wetness in that was on his shirt from that and gently rubbed his back to comfort him.

"I shall let you all get settled in and explore the sanctum. Do not touch anything. I do not want a creature from a different dimension being summoned and destroying the place. I will be back once I have done some research into your situation." Stephen said and left the room, going to read up on what to do.

The team sighed and a couple of them began to walk around the place. Steve felt the wetness spread on his shirt as Tony had fallen asleep and was drooling.

"I'm going to find where the bedrooms are in the place. Tony's asleep and it would be best to let him get a good amount of rest." Steve said to Clint, who was still in the room they had arrived in.

"Alright. When you find them, let us know where they are. I could do with a rest." Clint said as he stretched a little.

Steve nodded and began walking around the Sanctum, looking at all the weird artifacts. That reminded him that they should probably tell Stephen about the artifacts in Tony's lab. It would provide some insight for the sorcerer to find a reverse for Tony's age. But they would still be the issue of the chemical in his system that was preventing any aging. Hopefully, they could find a solution to that problem soon. It wasn't fair on Tony to be stuck at the age he is in the wrong time, with people constantly after him.

After some time, he managed to find a room full of many beds. He sighed with relief at the sight since he was a little worried this place didn't have any beds. He walked over to one of the many beds in this room and laid down, still holding Tony close. He could feel the child still clinging to his shirt so did not want to disturb him. He sighed as he laid there and let Tony get some much needed rest.

He didn't realise how tired he was as well until he laid there for a couple minutes and could feel his eyes closing. He let himself get some rest as well as he was less likely to disturb Tony from his sleep if he was asleep as well.

Tony eventually started waking up, yawning and stretching. He lifted his head off Steve's chest and slid off him to be sitting on the edge of the bed. He yawned again and rubbed his eyes with his free hand since he still had hold of his action figure. He looked over at Steve and saw that he was asleep. He didn't want to disturb him but he also wanted to explore this new area. They had told him last time he wandered off that he couldn't do that again. So he climbed off the bed so Steve had it all to himself and sat on the floor, looking over his action figure.

He had never actually played with an action figure before. He didn't know how to. He hadn't even seen other kids play with toys like this. So he wasn't sure what to do. He just stared at it and messed with the joints to see how they moved. He even discovered that the action figure's blue areas glowed in the dark.

After some time of looking at the action figure, he looked over at the door when he heard the doorhandle move. Tony quickly stood up and held his figure close to his chest. He wasn't sure who it was at the other side of the door. It could have been one of the others, the weird man that has magic, or someone who could hurt him. So he decided to hide under the bed to be safe.

When the door opened, Tony didn't see a pair of legs. He was confused as to why he couldn't see the legs of the person who had opened the door. Maybe the place was haunted and that scared Tony more. He whimpered and closed his eyes, holding the figure close and hoping whatever it was would go away.
