"You're so good with her." Kirstie beamed, staring at Chloe as she sat at the kitchen table, gazing down at Freyja as she slept on her lap.
"She's just amazing." Chloe smiled, her heart pounding against her chest as she stared at her baby.
"I still can't believe that you are a Mum." Louise smiled.
"Me neither." Chloe agreed.
"It's amazing though, I didn't realise it was possible to love something as much as I love her." she continued, glancing down at Freyja as she began to fidget. Kirstie smiled at Chloe when she carefully picked up her baby and held her against her chest, resting her cheek against Freyja's head. Chloe placed her hand underneath Freyja, supporting her weight. A small smile played on her lips when Freyja snuggled against her, burying her head against Chloe's collarbone.
"And she's a very loving little thing." Chloe told them, her heart bursting with pride.
"That's probably because she can sense how much you love her." Kirstie stated, swallowing the lump that was rising in her throat as she stared at Chloe's baby, the realisation finally dawning on her, how desperate she was for a baby of her own.
The three of them jumped as Amy walked into the room and placed a box onto the kitchen table, beaming proudly at them.
"Be careful you don't wake the baby." Louise reminded her.
"What are you up to?" Chloe asked when she noticed the cheeky glint in Amy's eyes.
"I brought down some makeup." Amy grinned.
"For this night out the three of you keep going on about?" Chloe checked, glancing between the three of them as they stared at her.
"Yep. You could do our makeup, so that we can look super hot." Amy pointed out.
"And you have to come with us of course." Louise grinned.
"I can't, I have a baby to take care of." Chloe protested.
"I'm sure she'll be okay for a little bit." Louise pointed out.
"Also you could do with a break, to let your hair down a little." Amy agreed.
"You have to come with us Chloe, we got you a dress and everything." Louise grinned.
"And do what, bring Freyja to the bar with me." Chloe said defensively, her stomach churning at the thought of being parted from her baby girl.
"No of course not." Amy chuckled.
"Hey Lee!" Louise called into the living room. Chloe sighed to herself as she heard his footsteps approaching.
"We have a favour to ask?" she stated as soon as he entered the room. Lee raised his eyebrow as he waited for her to continue.
"Can you look after Freyja for a couple of hours later, while we take Chloe to the bar with us?" Louise asked.
"I haven't said that I'm even going." Chloe snapped, her temper starting to flare that once again nobody seemed to understand the way that she was feeling. How her stomach was churning nervously at the thought of trusting the care of her baby to the man that she no longer trusted.
"But you have to come with us." Amy protested.
"I am happy to take care of her for a while." Lee piped up, a small smile playing on the corner of his lips at the thought of spending the evening with his baby girl. His heart pounded against his chest when he suddenly realised that he would finally be able to feed her and attempt to bond with her.
