Chloe smiled at Freyja as she carefully laid down in the bath, supporting her baby as she positioned her on her chest, sighing in contentment when Freyja visibly relaxed now that she had skin to skin contact with her mother.
"There we go baby girl." Chloe whispered, placing a soft kiss on Freyja's cheek. She burst out laughing as Freyja began to fidget, her legs kicking under the water as her face lit up with happiness.
"Has that helped to settle you a bit?" she chuckled, her heart bursting with pride when she was reminded how happy and content Freyja was when she was in water, just like Chloe herself. Chloe burst out laughing when Freyja turned to face her, and smiled widely, her little face full of love and happiness.
"We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun, but the hills that we climbed were just seasons out of time." she sang softly, smiling to herself as Freyja fidgeted excitedly.
"You like it when people sing to you don't you." she whispered, carefully snuggling her head against Freyja's.
Chloe's eyes flickered to the doorway as Danny walked into the room, chuckling to himself as he laid eyes on her.
"Why are you in the bath in your underwear?" he grinned.
"Because I wasn't sure if you were going to wake up and wander in here." she giggled, bursting out laughing when he raised his eyebrow at her. He quickly crossed the room, watching her closely as he sat on the floor beside the bath tub, not quite able to bring himself to stop staring at her. He smiled to himself when he noticed how beautiful she looked as she lay in the bath in her black lace underwear set, gently holding her baby against her.
"She was very unsettled last night wasn't she?" he said quietly, placing his hand on Freyja's back and tracing small circles, his cheeks colouring slightly when his hand brushed against Chloe's.
"So were you, every time that she woke me up, you were still awake." she pointed out.
"Yeah I couldn't sleep." he sighed, yawning quietly to himself.
"I kept thinking about what happened." he admitted, his eyes flickering to hers as he squirmed awkwardly, still not entirely sure what to do about the way that he'd been feeling towards her.
"Maybe we should talk about it later, you could do with some rest." she suggested, glancing down at Freyja when she began to fidget against her, kneading at her chest as she burrowed her head, clearly searching for food. Chloe placed her hand inside her bra and removed her breast, quickly offering it to Freyja. Danny chuckled when Freyja's eyes lit up happily as she quickly latched onto Chloe's breast.
"I think she definitely prefers feeding from you." he grinned. Chloe nodded in agreement, smiling down at her baby as she began to suckle. Her eyes misted with tears as she watched her closely, suddenly realising how much she had missed feeding her baby.
"I'm not going to drink again until I've weaned her." she said thoughtfully, staring at Freyja as she stared up at her, Chloe's heart pounding against her chest as she felt another overwhelming wave of love for her baby.
"Really?" he asked.
"Yes. She prefers being fed this way and I've really missed it." she admitted.
"She definitely seems happier now." he agreed. Chloe nodded slowly.
"You definitely need to get some sleep." she giggled, glancing at him as he yawned once again.
"You didn't get much sleep either though." he pointed out.
"Yes, but I can function without getting much sleep....you can't." she told him. Danny nodded slowly, a small smile playing on the corner of his lips.
