Chloe smiled in satisfaction as she stuffed the last of her clothes into her suitcase and zipped it closed, her eyes darting to Freyja as she fidgeted on the bed. She quickly pulled her suitcase off the bed and placed it onto the floor, smiling at Freyja as she picked her up and she fidgeted in her arms, making small happy sounds.
"Are you looking forward to going home?" she asked her, smiling at Freyja as she picked up her suitcase with her other hand, hurrying through to the living room. Her eyes wandered to Lee when she noticed that he was laying down on the sofa. His eyes slowly opened as she placed her suitcase beside the front door.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you." she said quietly.
"It's okay." he said huskily, gently rubbing his eyes as he slowly sat up.
"It is almost eleven am though." she smiled.
"Yeah, I didn't sleep very well." he said groggily. Chloe smiled sympathetically, her heart pounding against her chest as she stared at him, sighing quietly to herself when she noticed how attractive he looked with his hair messed up and his deep husky morning voice.
"How come?" she asked, avoiding his gaze as she perched on the sofa beside him, glancing at Freyja as she began to suck her own thumb.
"I don't know." he said quietly, sighing to himself as he thought about all of the hours that he'd spent tossing and turning, his heart heavy with dread at the thought of leaving Norway. Even though he knew that they needed to return home eventually, he couldn't help but wish that he didn't have to return to the reality where he was parted from Chloe and his daughter. Chloe nodded slowly, watching him closely as he sat up on the sofa, brushing his hair out of his face. His heart sunk even further when his gaze flickered to Chloe's suitcase that was positioned by the door of the cabin.
"Do we have to be in a rush to get home." he said quietly, his heart heavy at the thought of leaving for the airport in a few short hours. Chloe remained silent, carefully placing Freyja onto her lap and resting Freyja's back against her abdomen, wrapping her arm around her baby.
"Don't you want to stay a bit longer?" he asked, his heart pounding against his chest nervously. Even though he knew that he was clutching at straws, he desperately hoped that she would agree to stay longer, so that the goodbye he knew was inevitable could be delayed for a little while longer.
"Shayne is in jail now though, so we can go home." she pointed out, not entirely sure why he didn't seem to want to leave Norway.
"Besides I have to get back to work and so do you." she added, watching him closely as he fell silent, his gaze fixed on his lap.
"You have a tour to prepare for and I have appointments." she continued, trying to fill the uncomfortable silence.
"What do you mean appointments?" he frowned, not entirely sure what she was talking about.
"For my makeup business, Danny has been taking bookings for when I get back." she said quietly. He nodded slowly, swallowing the dry lump that was rising in his throat. Chloe smiled as she watched Freyja gazing up at Lee, a small smile on her face, her eyes twinkling with happiness.
"Do you want to go and sit with your Dad?" she cooed. Chloe smiled at Freyja as she slowly scooped her up, before gently placing her into Lee's outstretched arms. Lee's eyes misted with tears as he stared down at his daughter, his heart feeling like it was going to break at the thought of being parted from her.
"She's really bonded with you since we've been away." she said quietly, smiling proudly at them as they gazed at each other, their eyes full of love for each other.
