Chloe shook her head slowly, her eyes fixed on Lee as she backed away from him, her stomach churning as she tried to process Steph's words.

"I knew that I couldn't trust you." she whispered, her eyes brimming with tears as she glanced between the two of them, her heart breaking that Lee had lied to her once again. She couldn't help but feel stupid for believing for a single moment that Lee could be trusted, when he'd already proved to her in the past that he couldn't.

"Chlo wait." Lee pleaded, his stomach churning nervously when he noticed the way that she was gazing at him, a suspicious expression on her beautiful features.

"What's the point, I never should have agreed to this." she muttered under her breath, her stomach churning with anger when she glanced at Steph and noticed that she was smirking at her.

"You'd better wipe that smirk off your face before I do it for you." she continued, glaring at Steph angrily as she took deep breaths, trying to control her temper. Lee opened his mouth, quickly closing it again when Chloe turned on her heel and walked away, hurrying across the room. Steph smiled in satisfaction, gently placing her hand on Lee's arm, squeezing it in reassurance.

"Don't." he snapped, quickly snatching his arm away from her grasp.

"You're such a liar, you know as well as I do that I told you we couldn't be friends anymore." he continued angrily, his temper flaring.

"I didn't think you meant it though." she said, rolling her eyes at him.

"Well I did, so stay away from me and my family." he told her firmly, watching closely as Chloe hurried out of the venue. He sighed to himself as quickly followed her.

"Chloe?!" he called, hurrying to catch up with her as she walked outside.

"Chlo!" he tried again.

"What?!" she snapped, stopping dead in her tracks and turning to face him, raising her eyebrow questioningly.

"Can we talk please?" he asked, gazing down at her when he finally caught up.

"What's there to talk about?" she asked.

"I'm such an idiot, I can't believe that I agreed to this." she muttered, biting her lip to try and fight the tears that were filling her eyes.

"She's lying Chloe, I told her that we couldn't be friends anymore like you asked me too." he told her, desperately hoping that she would believe him.

"She's just trying to come between us." he continued.

"You know how much you mean to me." he prompted, when she remained silent. She sniffed quietly, not entirely sure what to think or who to believe. Both Steph and Lee had proved to her in the past that they couldn't be trusted, so she had no idea which one of them was telling her the truth at this moment in time. She glanced up at Lee as he softly stroked her cheek with his fingertips, sighing to himself when she quickly looked away from him.

"I know that you don't trust me and I understand why, but I swear that I am telling you the truth." he whispered, wishing with all of his heart that he could take back what he'd done. He'd have given anything to return to a time when Chloe trusted his words.

"You're going to break my heart again aren't you." she muttered thoughtfully, almost like she was talking to herself.

"No of course not. I promise that I'll never do anything to hurt you again." he said quietly, a note of sadness present in his voice. Chloe closed her eyes for a moment, sighing to herself as Lee placed the softest of kisses on her forehead.

"If you need a bit of extra reassurance, you could ask Duncan." he added, trying to ignore the small flicker of hurt he was feeling at the fact that Chloe didn't trust him.
