Lee sighed to himself, angrily running his hand through his hair as he watched Chloe hurrying away from him. She pushed her way through the crowd, desperately trying to get as far away from Steph as possible.
"At least she's out of the way now." Steph grinned, snapping him out of his trance.
"What the hell were you playing at?!" he said angrily, his temper flaring that she'd dared to lay a hand on Chloe.
"How dare you lay a hand on her." he continued, his nostrils flaring, a note of menace present in his voice.
"She called me a slut." she protested.
"Well, she's not a million miles away from the truth is she." he said shortly, slowly shaking his head at her.
"This is the last time that I am going to tell you, stay away from my family." he said firmly, glaring at Steph as he walked past her, hurrying after Chloe. He strode in the direction of the exit, not quite able to stop himself from checking on Chloe. As soon as he stepped outside, he glanced around, a small sigh of relief escaping his lips when he noticed her standing at the side of the road, silently staring into space. His heart pounded against his chest as he slowly walked towards her, his eyes fixed on her as she remained silent, staring into the darkness.
"Chloe." he mumbled, his stomach churning with guilt when she jumped, a small squeak of fear escaping her lips.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." he said softly.
"It's fine, I just want to go home." she said quietly, closing her eyes for a moment as she tried to suppress the thoughts that were swirling around her head. No matter how hard she tried she couldn't stop the images of Steph and Lee together, the two of them making passionate love to each other. The thought of Steph slowly undressing in front of him as he gazed in wonder at her body, in the same way that he'd done to her, caused her to feel sick to her stomach.
"Are you okay?" he asked, snapping her out of her thoughts. She nodded slowly, glancing at him for a moment when she felt him watching her closely, trying to check her face in the darkness.
"Chloe." he prompted her, sensing that she was struggling to hold back her emotions.
"I'm fine." she said shortly, turning her back on him to avoid his gaze. He sighed to himself watching her closely as she wiped her cheeks, clearly wiping away her tears. His heart broke for her as she stood with her back to him, wrapping her arms around her petite frame, desperately trying to keep warm in the crisp night air. Before he could talk himself out of it, he quickly removed his jacket, gently placing it around her shoulders, sighing to himself when she flinched under his touch. Chloe stood for a moment, her heart feeling like it was being ripped out of her chest, like it always did when she was reminded of what Lee had done to her. She knew in her heart that she would never fully come to terms with what he had done to her, particularly when she was already suffering and heavily pregnant with their daughter.
Lee watched her closely as she slowly turned to face him, no longer able to stand the sensation of his warm breath on her neck. He sighed in contentment as he stared down at her, finally relaxing whenever he was with the person that he needed to be with. He instinctively reached towards her to touch her cheek, quickly stopping himself when he suddenly remembered that she no longer wanted his touch. His hand hovered in front of her face, his fingers twitching as he tried to resist the urge to touch her. Chloe glanced at his hand, as it hovered in front of her face, before instinctively reaching out to touch his hand. He watched her closely as she slowly lowered his hand, her hand lingering in his for a moment. The two of them locked eyes, Chloe's cheeks colouring as she quickly looked away from his intense gaze, squirming slightly as she removed her hand from his grasp.
