1.New Greenie

Silence filled the box. As the limp body of a raven haired boy laid there the box started slowly ascending up the lights of the walls flashed. The limp body slowly awoke and the boy came back into reality, as the caged elevator sped up he gasped for air and adjusting to the wet clothes drenched in sweat or water he couldn't tell. The humidity was slowly getting higher as the box kept going, he rose to his feet with support of the mesh chicken wire surrounding him. "Hello!" he exclaimed with a raspy voice looking for someone to answer. Only no one did. The  box kept going up and lights flashed by quicker. Coughing and gasping for air the elevator jolts and becomes rapidly more faster than before, he sees 4 letters imprinted on all the craters and barrels around him the four letters stated: WCKD.

Hearing a muffled groan he saw a blanket over what appeared to be quite a large cage, he crept over to it and moved the blanket out the way to reveal a snout owned by a wild boar. The boar squealed, wanting to be freed in the process fighting the poor boy, causing him to stumble backwards into the wall of wire. He looked up and decided to take another shot at communicating with somebody "Hey! Heyy!" he shouted and proceeded to hit the ceiling of the cage with his palm. "Somebody help me! Heyy!." now being desperate for someone to say something, anything back to him. Instead of the voice of another human he was greeted with the ending of the journey, as the elevator ceased to a stop he fell backwards from impact and fell backwards onto his backside.

The feeling of panic crept up on him at a rapid pace, he sat up with urgency as the lights suddenly turned red. Panting and looking around nervously the room made a noise and the once red lights turned to green then once again darkness. After about 15 seconds of nothing but the boys short panicky breaths in the dark two doors above the cage were opened revealing a beaming sun above him. He raised his arm over his eyes blocking out the sun and with the other three limbs backing away in panic. Removing his arm and slightly wincing at the sun he looked up to see a group of teenage boys in baggy clothing and dirt all over them.

Slowly more and more boys appear , obviously wanting to get a look at the new boy. One by one the boys started to laugh or talk as the door to the mesh cage was opened above him. As the box doors' where finally open the teenagers started to get closer wanting a better look at him, a boy with short brown hair and a tall muscular build stepped forward from the group surrounding the raven haired boy on the floor. The brunette jumped onto a box and then on to the floor of the cage and got in the boy's face and simply said "Day one Greenie. Rise and shine" and he grabbed the boy's t-shirt and pulled him off the ground in one swift movement. Other boys pulled the raven haired boy out the box and onto the ground with a thud.

The group crowded round even closer having no thought of personal space. The boy looked at them in panic whereas they just laughed at him or even gave him death glares looking at his appearance of black trousers and long sleeved blue t-shirt. The boys daunted over him and started saying weird statements such as:

"He looks as if he's klunked himself!"

"Definitely a slopper"

"I don't know i could use some help in the kitchen"

As the panic rises and the talk and laughter becomes muffled the boy quickly rises to his feet and runs through the group with determination. Once none of them made any attempt whatsoever to catch him they all just burst out into laughter and cheers. One boy then exclaimed across the field

"Hey, We got a runner!"

The confused boy started running further and faster wanting to get away, taking in none of his surroundings and just hearing the cheers of the strangers behind him, he starts to pant but keeps going then suddenly her trips and falls front first into the ground, and rolling over from the impact. In the distance he can hear the oo's and laughters of the boys from a far. The boy finally takes his surroundings in hearing the cheers of 'keep going' and claps in the background. Slowly rising his feet he looks ahead only to see walls. A set of 4 walls surrounding the place as a square being at least 100ft tall. He looks around at the ivy covered walls to see a gap. An opening to walls surrounding them.

Reluctantly the shook up boy was thrown into a makeshift ail cell which consisted of dug out ground and handmade wooden walls ceiling and door. As the boys who threw him in there start to walk away one of them shouts in the distance "he's all yours" taking no notice to that statement the now calmed down boy makes his way to the door of the 'cell' and inspects the outside of the area he was just in, his main focus being the exit between the tall walls. Paying zero attention to the footsteps coming closer the boy becomes startled when a body stands in the way of his view, the unknown person simply states a calm "Hey."

Falling back from the surprise the boy recollects himself trying not to look as scared as he feels, and simply stares at the shaven haired boy before him. The dark skinned boy kneels down and looks into the pit and stares right back at the boy, "Hey there, green bean" the pale skinned boy looks at him wanting to ask a million questions but nothing comes out.

"You're not gonna run again, OK? He questioned the frightened boy, who made no reply. The guy scoffed and said "Good" while getting up and undoing the knot on the door to the cell. The boy just backed away scared of what may happen next and backs into a corner, while the shaven haired boy once again kneels down to look at one another. "My name is Alby" he stated wanting to calm and reassure the new boy, "Look, you tell me a bit about yourself, who you are, where you came from. Anything at all?"

The Greenie didn't reply. He couldn't if he wanted too, he couldn't remember what he looked like, where he was from. Not even something as simple as his name. He simply put his hands together moving them nervously and lowered his head in shame and shyly muttered "no".

"Can you tell me your name?"

The boy started to hyperventilate from his mind having no memories or thoughts it was just blank. "I, uh, I can't remember anything." he stated as the thought came falling on him like a pile of bricks. "Why can't i remember anything?" he questioned with a voice laced with panic only trying to look for answers.

The man crouched in the doorway nodded understandably not getting mad at the answer he was given."It's ok." The raven haired boy became more and more bothered as his breaths became shorter and heavier. "Hey, relax. Relax. It's normal" he reassured the Greenie. "It happens to us all" he said looking at the environment around. "You get your name back in a day or two, maybe even sooner if you're lucky." the boy just sat there with his knees to his chest taking everything Alby was saying in. "It's the one thing they let us keep." Alby stated passive aggressively as if someone else was there with them.

He simply looked up at Alby in confusion of who 'they' was. "What is this place?"

Ably reached out for the Greenie to grab and kindly said: "let me show you."
