As the cogs echoed through the silent Glade, the doors painfully slow opened to the group to reveal. Nothing. No one there waiting to get though, no bodies on the floor. Nothing. As all the boys sighed in disappointment, "Told you Chuck. They're not coming back." Newt told the young boy while trying not to let the tears fall from losing the two best people he knew. Everyone but Chuck started to walk away; as Zart turned back to speak to the boy he caught a glimpse of something or in this case in the distance, "No way." he stated in disbelief causing the Gladers to turn back around too.

"Yee-eah!" Chuck cheered at the sight of Minho and Thomas carrying an unconscious Alby, coming towards the entrance of the maze for escape. As the group cheered and applauded in shock and thankfulness one thought stuck in Newt's head; where is Athena.

As Clint and Jeff rested Alby on the floor checking up on him Frypan looked at the conscious pair and asked; "Where's Athena?" On cue a pair of light running footsteps sounded through the entrance of the maze the group turned their attention so see a sweaty, beaten up, but still as beautiful as ever Athena running towards the entrance of the maze.

"Good news, nothing followed us here. Had to check just in case." she stated as she slowed her run down while coming forward to the group.

The group was silent in shock as they realised that all four of them had made it through the night. Newt was the first one to react as he got to his feet and walked up to the girl and pulled her by the waist into a hug as if, if he let go she would be gone again. The group decided to check on Alby trying to give them a moment of privacy, "You're a Shucking Slinthead you know that right." this said as they leaned against each other's foreheads.

Wrapping her arms around his neck and while giggling at his worriedness, "You were worried for nothing. See we are all fine. You're welcome by the way, they would have been dead without me."

As her hazel eyes met his chocolate ones he lightly chuckled knowing that she was most definitely right with that fact, "Still, can't blame me for worrying." he glanced down at her lips and then back up to her eyes, as she unknowingly did the same, pulling her in more by her waist and more by his neck their lips met in a deep long overdue passionate kiss. After a few seconds Athena reluctantly came out of the kiss and smiled up at the dark blonde haired boy before her.

Their moment was unfortunately cut short due to a question spiking each of their interests for the people around them. "You saw a griever?" Chuck asked, causing the group to look between Minho, Thomas and Athena.

"Ye, we saw one." Thomas answered.

"They didn't just see it. Athena killed it." Minho corrected, causing the group to stare at Athena in shock and her to become shy and hide beside Newt slightly.

The Gladers gathered in the homestead as the keepers and second in command evaluate the situation they are currently stuck in. Loud chatter sounded throughout the handmade hut, "Things are changing," Gally pointed out, causing the crowd to become quiet, "There's no denying that. First Ben gets stung in broad daylight. And then Alby. And now our Greenie has taken it upon himself to go into the maze, which is a clear violation of the rules here." Gally explained causing Athena to shift uncomfortably while stood next to Newt leaning against the railing behind her, due to the familiarity of a meeting she had to go through from a similar situation.

"Ye, but him and Athena saved Alby's life." Frypan spoke up.

"Did they?" Gally questioned further. "For three years, we have coexisted with these things and now she's killed one of them, with help of the new Greenie no doubt." Gally said pointing at Athena and Thomas.
