"I'm just going to put this there." She pointed at the teachers table sa gilid ng stage.
"Samahan na kita." I said, she nodded.
"Hello po, can I put this here po? Kunin ko na lang po ulit after this." She's talking to the teacher na naka upo doon, the teacher said yes so she gave the flowers to the teacher.
We hooked our arms again going towards our table. Nakatingin nanaman yung mga students sa amin, I felt like I was a main character of a story.
"Did you had fun today?" I asked her, we're already on our table.
"Yeah, it's actually fun." She smiled.
"Congrats pre." Chad pats my shoulder.
"Sainyo den." Sabi ko.
"Gutom na ba kayo?" The MC shouted, nagulat tuloy kami.
"YES!" Sigaw din ng mga students.
"Sige! Pumila na kayo, may catering doon sa left side niyo."
I checked the time it's already four thirty in the afternoon. "Let them go first, so we don't get crowded." I said she just nodded again.
Nang mapansin ko na lumuwag na yung linya niyaya ko na siya pumila. "What do you want?" I asked her.
"I'll just pick whatever I want." She answered, I nodded.
I feel uncomfortable when the waiters are looking at us.
"Bagay kayo."
Sabi nung isang baklang waiter, napatingin naman ako sa kaniya minding her own business. "Thanks." Bulong ko na lang.
"Yan lang?" I asked her while looking at her plate with a Carbonara, two pieces of Cordon Bleu and Chicken.
"Yeah, hindi naman ako gutom." She smiled.
"O-okay." Tumango na lang ako.
"Oh, my gosh." I looked at her, her dress is wet. Sinadya siguro ni Therese 'yon. "Sorry I-" She giggled. "I didn't mean to."
She ignored it nilagay niya muna yung plato niya sa malapit na lamesa then she walked away. So I did the same thing and I followed her, she's going to the restroom.
"Hey." I called her and asked her if she's fine.
"Yeah, i-it's just c-cold." She hugged herself.
"Here take this." I removed my suit and gave it to her.
"N-no it's okay." She refused but nilagay ko na lang yon sa balikat niya. "T-thanks, you can wait for me in our table." Then she went inside the bathroom.
Kinuha ko muna yung pagkain namin an naiwan sa lamesa at nilipat sa lamesa namin. "Pre, san ka punta?" Chad asked me.
"May babalikan lang ako." I said.
"Huh? Saa--"
I didn't even listen to him and left him behind, pag-balik ko she already opened the door nagulat siya sa akin. "I said wait for me at the table." She walked away.
Galit ba siya? I ignored it and just followed her hanggang sa umupo siya sa table namin. She started eating, she didn't even talk. I was shocked when she finished her food that fast, she stood up then I saw her walking away palabas ng gymnasium.
"Saan punta asawa mo pre?" Tanong ni Chad.
"Hindi ko nga 'yon asawa! Manahimik ka jan susundan ko siya." I ate the last spoon of my food then went outside the gymnasium.
It was windy outside, why would she stay here? I heard someone humming to a song, it is very familiar song to me I forgot the title, hinanap ko kung saan yung kumakanta and there I saw her sitting in the bench
"Even when the sky come falling." She sings, "Even when the sun don't shine." She's still singing while looking in the sun, it's already five and halos palubog na yung araw. "I got faith in you and I, so put your pretty little hands in mine."
"Meow." A almost jumped when a cat brushed its head on my legs.
"K-kanina ka pa diyan?" She asked shockingly.
"No, hinahanap kita actually. The dance will start soon." I said, she nodded and walked towards me.
She removed my suit and gave it to me. "You can now have this, my dress is almost dry, thanks." She said with a genuine smile, I nodded and I wear it.
We hooked our arms together again habang papasok ng gymnasium, I already expected that nakatingin nanaman silang lahat saamin and tama yung in-expect ko.
"Ready na ba kayong isayaw mga partners niyo?" The MC shouted again.
"YES!"
"ISASAYAW KO CRUSH KO!" Sigaw nung isang lalaki.
"While the music is playing you can dance whoever you like, partner mo man or hindi."
The music played, Perfect by Ed Sheeran. "Can I?" I gave my hands to her, she just said yes.
Nauna kami pumunta sa harap, nag-sitilian nanaman yung mga students. "Hindi ako marunong." I said, hindi naman talaga.
"Bakit mo ko niyaya?" She asked. "Biro lang." She giggled.
That giggle makes my heart melt, I don't know why. "Here, hold my hand." Hindi ko magawa, my eyes are locked on her.
She held my left hand and put my right hand on her waist. "That, just sway left and right." She said, napatango na lang ako.
My heart starts to beat so fast, sana hindi niya 'yon naririnig. She put her left hand on my shoulder. "You okay?" She asked.
"Y-yeah, I'm okay." Pilit akong tumawa.
I'm still enjoying this day, hindi ko alam bat ako natuwa sa babaeng 'to hindi ko naman siya kilala. But I will never forget the one I've first met.
We're still dancing until the song ends, ang next na kanta ay Can't Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley.
"Omg, I love this song." She said like an exited child heard her favorite song.
"Can I have this dance?" A random guy went to us.
"Ye-"
"No." I cut her words. "Absolutely no." I said strictly, napaalis na lang bigla yung lalaki.
"Hey! Why'd you do that?" She hit my shoulder.
"You're mine." I said, nagulat din ako sa sinabi ko.
"Wha--"
"You can now remove your masks." The MC announced calmly.
Yung ibang nasayaw already removed theirs, so we must do it too. I removed mine, she was looking at me. Nagulat ata sa kagwapuhan ko.
"Remove yours." I said, she bit her lips and slowly removed it. But I can't see her face because she's looking down.
I was shocked when I put her chin up.
"Jorielei.."
