"...and he started leaning in....and I was literally frozen--"
"But did you guys kiss?" Michael interrupted.
"Jesus Christ, let her finish!" Luke scolded.
"No, I didn't," I responded.
"What?!" Leah exclaimed, "Why not?!"
"I don't know...I chickened out," I shrugged.
"And then what happened?" Michael asked.
"I left.." I trailed off as Leah let out a frustrated groan.
All eyes flickered over to her. "You should've kissed him!" she exclaimed.
"What? No, she shouldn't," Luke quickly said. "That would've caused more trouble."
"Wait...out of curiosity, why didn't you kiss him?" Michael asked.
"I..I don't know. I panicked." I stuttered, not really knowing an answer.
"Why would you panic?" Michael asked, to which I only stared at him. "Unless..."
A smirk began to grow on his face as Leah giggled quietly. "Unless what?" Luke said.
"You haven't kissed anyone yet, have you?" Michael smiled cheekily, lowering his volume.
My eyes widened as my cheeks flushed. "Wh-What?"
Everyone's eyes stayed on me. "Oh my god, you haven't..." Leah whispered, causing me to blush harder.
"I'm leaving," I stated, embarrassed.
I got up, grabbing my backpack. "C'mon Brook, we're just teasing," Luke smiled, "don't leave."
"I can't believe you haven't had your first kiss yet!! You're almost eighteen!" Michael exclaimed, causing me to roll my eyes and walk away.
I knew they were just teasing me, but I was pretty embarrassed and I was pretty sure if I stayed, the teasing wouldn't stop. I needed to go to my locker, anyway. I walked to my locker and started stuffing necessary materials for the first two periods. School didn't start until about ten more minutes so I just took my time. I closed my locker and started walking to my class. Taking a sharp turn around the corner, another body collided with mine and papers flew everywhere.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" I exclaimed as I quickly bent down to pick up the pieces of paper up.
"It's okay, accidents hap-- Brooklyn?"
I looked up at the mention of my name to find a familiar face. "Calum!" I said, eyes widening as I quickly stood up.
My cheeks flushed as I had a flashback from what happened yesterday. "Here," I said, handing him the stack of papers, "Sorry, again."
"No,no it was my fault. I should've looked where I was going," he admitted.
"So,uh, what are you doing here? You're not really the type to come to school early.." I asked, trying to maintain a casual conversation.
"Oh, I was just on my way to talk to you.." he replied.
"Oh.." was all that came out of my mouth as I averted my eyes elsewhere.
"So...can we talk?" he asked.
Before I could mutter a response, the bell rang. "Oh um, maybe later," I said before hurrying to class.
---
The day passed by pretty quickly. Surprisingly, I made it through the day without having to talk to Calum about whatever he wanted to talk to me about. Fourth period was pretty risky, since he literally sat next to me but I managed to be the first one to leave the classroom. Although, I was relieved that I didn't have to talk to him about yesterday, I still felt guilty for ditching him. Maybe, I'll apologize after everything's not as awkward between us.
