-𝐌𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐝𝐲-"Today, we'll be talking about chemical changes and physical blahs, so make sure to take blah blah notes."
6th period Science. My mortal- no, immortal enemy. I hate it almost as much as math. Wow, I hate a lot of my classes, don't I?
"Chemical changes occur when blah is blah blah. Then blah..."
I stopped listening and looked at my blank notebook, beginning to write "notes."
Science... Sucks...
"It's due Friday, and don't forget that this project is 60% of your grade. You'll have only a few minutes to work on it in class, so take it home if you need to."
Wait, what?!
I looked up, and my teacher was assigning partners.
I sighed with relief. A partner project. Thank God, 'cause I had no idea what we were doing.
"Let's see... Melody Sky with... Julian Cole."
I looked up.
Julian Cole? I barely knew him, but I did know that he was one of the smartest kids in our grade. Callie had English with him last year and mentioned that he was pretty cute but really annoying once you got to know him.
"Hey," I said, taking the poster and setting it on the desk next to his.
But that was when the bell rang.
"I guess we'll have to work on it after school," Julian groaned.
I took out a pen and scribbled my number down on a piece of paper.
"Text me and we'll meet," I said, handing it to him.
Julian took it and his cheeks were a soft pink. Was he... blushing?
I ignored my thoughts and gathered all my belongings.
7th period was Band, my favorite and last class.
I took my usual seat next to Callie. She and I both played the clarinet, so we chose Band for our elective.
"We have someone new joining us today," the band teacher announced. "He's not new to the school, but decided to switch his elective. Come on in, Julian."
I turned to Callie, and she met my eyes as well, her face etched with surprise.
"Hmm... you can go sit over there, next to Melody."
I smiled and waved a little.
Julian walked over to me and quickly sat down, his cheeks red.
Is he blushing again?
I assembled my clarinet and Mr. Scott announced, "Today, you'll be practicing for our winter concert in groups of 3 or 4. Everyone in a group should play the same instrument."
Everyone separated into groups, and Callie and I looked around for another clarinet player that we knew.
But before we knew it, everyone else was in their groups and the only person left was Julian, who was clutching a clarinet as well.
"I guess we're in the same group," I said to him. "We can sit over there."
Callie, Julian, and I went over to a corner and sat down.
We practiced the song we would be playing in the upcoming concert, even though I kept squeaking.
"I'll be right back," Callie said after a few minutes. "Nature calls."
Julian and I resumed playing.
"Ugh, I keep squeaking on B Sharp!" I complained, having to stop again.
"Oh, you're holding it wrong." Julian scooted a bit closer to me. He wrapped one arm around me, putting his left hand on mine and his other hand on my right, making me turn tomato red.
He was about half a foot taller than me, so it wasn't too hard for him to look at our hands over my head.
"Look, you have to put your index finger here-" Julian led my fingers back to their right places. "-and your pinky goes here."
"T-thanks," I stuttered, blushing.
"Uhh, guys?"
I jumped a little, startled, but Julian didn't even flinch.
"Am I interrupting something?" Callie asked.
"NO!" I replied quickly.
I might have said the "no" a bit too loud, because all heads turned around to look at us.
Julian's arms were still around me, so everybody saw us. We were practically CUDDLING. I looked away, embarrassed.
He finally went back to his spot, and that was when class ended.
Finally! I thought, taking my clarinet apart and hastily shoving it back in its case.
I practically ran out the door for the third class in a row.
yeah.... i really wish i could tell the story without all the embarrassing parts, but that would be cheating >.<
