DWC /// Day 12 - Along the Shore

I wandered across the coastline, my steps leaving marks on the dampened soft sand which was quickly levelled once the water rose to fill in the hallowed space with its liquid before drawing back into its place, leaving only broken shells and lines of white foam in its stay.

Surrounding me to my left was a broad line of hills with only one giant amongst them, towering above all others. A sheet of grass coated the hills leading into the distant city, the colour of a field of wheat on the base before fading into a darker green scattered across the stone topping the upper half of the giant rock.

Opposite to the nature giants was the sea, serene as ever, with only the occasional white ripple interrupting the otherwise perfect surface, much like the faint impurities scattered across a beautiful jade floor.

It was impossible to see too far into the ocean through the thick coat of fog heading my way. It probably wouldn't even be an hour before everything was covered in it. But I continued down my stroll, taking in the fresh air which soon became a gentle breeze, brushing against my cheek.

I heard the distant rumble of the nearing storm, the wind becoming harsher as the world around me darkened, only lightened every few moments when a lightning bolt travelled across the sky.

I had to hurry.

For today's prompt I had to write a piece of scenery based off a randomly generated picture. Tbh, this is a lot more poetic that what I'm used to, but I'm very happy to finally be practicing a more poetic writing style!
