My footsteps echoed through the wide mall garage as I made my way back to my car, struggling to find my keys in my pocket with the several bags I was carrying.
I reached the car and left my bags on the floor, finally able to rummage through my pocket to some success. I pulled the key out and unlocked the car, swinging the door open with a grunt.
"Heya Kace-" I looked into the car, frowning in confusion at the sight of my cat, sitting on the driver's seat, a glaring look on her face and her paws on the steering wheel. "Umm... Kace...?" I asked.
Kace tilted her head to the side, meowing at me as she gestured with her paw for me to get closer.
The actual heck? Did I take something...?
Hesitantly I set the bags in the back seat then plopped into the passenger seat, looking to Kace with confusion. "now what, Kay?"
Kace growled, gesturing with her paw again. I turned to the door then shut it with a grunt, about to turn to Kace when my vision started blurring. I felt my head spin as the distorted images consumed my mind before it all went black.
A strange feeling on my face stirred me awake and my eyes fluttered open to the sight of Kace, licking my face only to pull away once she noticed I woke up.
"Kace..." I pushed myself up and reached out for her, but she stepped back. "Goodness, I had the weirdest dream" I yawned out, stretching the tired out of me before taking a good look at my surroundings.
.......
This wasn't my apartment.
A wave of panic washed over me and looked to Kace. "The fuck?! I'm still dreaming!" I screamed in panic, but Kace just stared at me, meowing once before starting down the filthy dark corridor.
I allowed myself a moment to catch my breath before picking myself up, glancing around the place. Everything was absolutely disgusting, from the water pouring down the cracks on the walls to the various types of insects crawling across the surfaces.
The sight was enough to make me sick in the stomach. Insects, gross- ew- ew.
I hugged myself close, trying to stay clear from any surfaces so that those little monsters wouldn't crawl onto me while I braved through the hallway as quickly as I could.
The only source of light was the occasional torch, which served mostly to give the place an eerie feel and nothing else. Dripping and faint rustling accompanied my footsteps which were soon joined by some faint yells coming from deeper into the darkness.
I froze in place.
"Kace? What is that?" I looked down to Kace who had come to a stop at last. She looked up at me, almost like she was giving me a moment before continuing. "It sounds like... someone needs help-" I muttered to myself, following after my cat once again.
In any sane situation, I would've turned around and got the hell out of here... but this was a dream. I might as well go along with it.
The screams came to a stop as we neared, now unable to tell from which of the doors it was coming from. "Hello??" I asked, stepping forward and looking through my surroundings for any sign of life.
A face peeked out from behind the bars of one of the doors. A man by the looks of it, a death glare on his face.
Kace walked over and stopped by the door, sitting down and looking up at me in wait.
Wait... was this why we were here...?
Wearily, I stepped closer to the door. "Hello?"
"Get out of my sight" was the only reply I got.
I looked to Kace, eyebrow raised in confusion, but Kace simply meowed in response, pawing at the door insistently. I grumbled to myself under my breath before reaching for my hair, pulling out a thick bobbypin.
"Here's to shit I never thought I'd end up using-" I cursed to myself, fumbling with the keyhole until a click sounded and the door slipped open. I sighed in relief, a proud smile on my lips. "Not too shabby huh?" I looked to Kace before opening the door.
"Hey... I uh..."
I lost all composure at the sight of the man. Maybe a few years younger than me. Dirty blonde hair and a pouty look on his face as he leaned against the wall, arms crossed over his chest.
"I'm not talking." he snarled through gritted teeth, sending me a glare.
"No need- but uh... I uh..." I glanced down to Kacie for guidance but she just blinked up at me. "I uh... you wanna come with? I'm getting out of here"
His expression changed to one of surprise. "Wait... you're a prisoner too?"
"..................................yeah sure, c'mon let's go" I hurried out of the cell, lingering outside as I waited. I wasn't going to wait long, just a while. By the looks of it, he wasn't particularly excited to come with. I wonder... what they did to him...
I turned around to the sound of footsteps as the man walked out, glancing at me with a familiar look on his face. The same look I had seen one too many times.
"C'mon then..." I said, turning to Kacie who was already waiting by another hallway, ready to continue our journey.

For today's prompt I had to write a story based on a few images given! I ended up mixing two into one. And ngl, I like the result!
