Rose's POV

I was called to Jack's office to discuss the special training. Tyler and dad were called too and we talked about the topic for hours. At the end of the meeting, we've decided that we will hold our special training in the Black Forest with a warrior who will be in charge of the whole training process. All of us were content with the decision, Layla included.

And right now, I am out with Tyler at the nearest supermarket. We were told that we would have to bring most of the important stuff with us since we would barely walk out of the forest and engage with people.

"What else do you think we need to buy now?" Tyler asked as I walked next to the trolley full of products which was blocking my sight.

"I am sure we've got all the things we will need there." I replied and ignored an old couple who were looking at us with awe. It's not the first time someone is shooting us those gooey eyes and I dismissed it.

"Make sure to buy the protection." The old man yelled over at us which made me stop dead on my tracks with wide eyes. My cheeks were flaming with heat and I waved my hands at them, telling them we weren't a couple. But they just smiled and walked away, the old man's hand on his beloved wife's waist.

There was an awkward silence between us as we walked around and filled the overflowing trolley with more things. Things got much better a few minutes later and we acted like the thing back there didn't happen at all.

And finally, we were emptying the trolley as we got prepared to pay. I stood there lazily till something caught my eye.

"Hey. Are you sure we would need this?" I asked Tyler as I waved a firecracker in front of his face. I've never put these in here so I am sure it was him who put it here.

"I mean, if we happen to stay there more than a year and have to spend our birthdays there, I think it would be really useful." "Aw, that's very thoughtful of you but don't you remember what your dad had told you? Are you trying to tell everyone in the world that you're celebrating your birthday when we're supposed to act like we are dead and make no contacts with humans?"

"I mean, rules are meant to be broken, right?" He smiled sheepishly at me and I contemplated if I should buy it or not. But when I saw Tyler giving me puppy eyes, I couldn't help but put it back on the counter.

It took almost half an hour for us to check out and I hopped onto Tyler's car after loading the bags in the trunk.

"Are you excited?" I asked him as he sat on his seat and started the engine.

"I am not sure. I can't say I am excited because I won't be able to talk to new people and make new friends for years and I will have to train every day. But at the same time, I can't wait to go to the forest and just relish the feeling of fresh air."

"True. Do you think this is the occasion when I will meet my mate or something? I mean everything happens for a reason and this situation might be created so that I can meet my destined one or something." I wondered what it would feel like to meet your destined soulmate.

"Are you that eager to meet him?" There was a drastic change in his voice which made me study his face. His usual playful smile was gone and he stared at me as he waited for my answer.
