Jessica's POV

I opened my eyes and strange features of the hotel greeted me. I put my arm over my eyes but jolted up when I thought about Luke. I checked my phone in my night stand and it showed 11 in the morning.

I opened the message from Rose and frowned when it stated she was leaving due to emergency. Upon reading her text, I couldn't help but feel sad because I wanted her by my side, as selfish as it sounds. I know that she has her own life but I doubt I will be able to make it through the day on my own, without her.

I sighed as I got out of bed and went to the bathroom to get a quick shower. Luke is lying on his death bed and here I am, enjoying my sleep. After a quick shower, I changed into new clothes Tyler got for me and checked out of the hotel.

I got a burger from a nearby cafe as I took a cab to the hospital. I feel much more refreshed after a long sleep. I feel better and much calmer but I can't help but feel antsy when I think about Luke.

I walked towards the ward in hurry and opened the room. When I walked inside, there were two women with Xavier on the sofa.

"Hello. Who might you guys be?" I asked and they stood up. One of them looked to be in her late fifties, dressed in an expensive looking silk dress and the other one was a teen with pink hair and a neon jacket.

"Hello. I am Luciano's mom, Lily Ivanov. Who are you?"

"OMG! Hey! I Je- I am Jessica Knight. Nice to me-meet you." I stuttered and face-palmed inside. Gosh, did I just stutter?

"Hey, I am Olivia, his sister. He talked about you all the time whenever he was home." She pointed at Luke and there he was, unmoving and barely hanging on with machines attached.

"He did? I am really sorry. I really owe you guys a huge apology. I should be the one who's supposed to be lying there. I am so sorry." I got on my knees as I just couldn't bring myself to look at them in their eyes and I know that asking for forgiveness after killing their child doesn't solve anything but I was that helpless.

"No, please. Don't do this. I don't blame you, Ms. Knight. I heard the story from Xavier and it was my son's own choice to take the bullet. And as his mother, I have no right to blame you for it, the one whom my son tried to protect. You must mean alot to him. He didn't visit home often." Luke's mother said as she took a seat on the sofa and sat me down next to her.

"But whenever we were together, all he talked about was this intriguing girl from Italian mafia. He told me so much about you that I knew you were the one the moment you stepped inside." Olivia said and I sent her a grateful smile.

This certainly wasn't the reaction I was supposed to get from Luke's parents after whatever I did to their son and brother but here, they were, comforting me instead.

"It isn't my story to tell but he means alot to me because he's the sole reason we are still alive after whatever our dad did to us. He has always been a serious guy with murderous look and one goal to make everything perfect in his empire. But whenever he talked about you, I could see the rare side of my brother, an optimistic and happy brother. And I was grateful that you were there to make my brother happy." Olivia added and Luke's mother nodded from beside me.
