Rose's POV

Ten hours were gone in less than a blink of an eye and thanks to all the help from the generals, we managed to move the elders and children to the underground shelter and warriors were gathered, with their weapons and in their armor.

I changed to my golden armor as well and walked to the gate of the castle with Tyler, his parents and mine following right behind me.

The door opened and revealed the whole troop ready with their weapons and armor to protect their loved ones. With my wings spread out, I flew over to them and they got on their knees in respect. They got up soon after my permission and my voice echoed throughout the crowd.

"This is going to be a tough battle because the vampires had been gathering forces and preparing for this day when we haven't. But that doesn't mean we are gonna lose the battle. We will lead the war to victory no matter what and protect our loved ones. I will try my best to lead the war to victory but I can't do it alone. I need all of your help. We need to be united to win the war. Please follow the orders and commands from your generals." I waved my hand and golden sparkles fell on warriors.

"This is my gift to you all. It will protect you guys from three fetal attacks each but don't just depend on it. Fight with all your might and teach those bastards lessons for trying to snatch your mates and loved ones away! Before you teach them a lesson, protect yourself and return to your motherland safe and sound. It's the only order I am giving to ya'll and obey it with your life! Do you understand?!" A chorus of yes's were heard and I got to the balcony.

I got inside and as we walked, I asked Tyler to go with the generals according to the strategy and he was reluctant to follow my instruction. Some of the warriors were left to guard the palace and I will be leaving to confront the Vampire King.

As the troop left with their allotted generals, I walked towards the destination with some of the elite warriors. As I got nearer to the destination left by Vampire King in the letter, more antsy Layla got in my head.

When I arrived, there were vampires surrounding and guarding someone, most probably the Vampire King. When I stood in the middle of the forest clearing with my hand on my hip, the guards parted to reveal their King and my breath caught in my throat.

My nightmare was sitting on the chair with a smirk playing on his lips. He was one of my exes, the abusive and toxic one who almost raped me had it not been for a stranger who saved me from my darkness. Masking my surprise, I took several steps forward and Chris stood up from his seat.

"I didn't expect to see you here, Chris."

"Of course! If you give in to me now, I probably won't hurt your little minions." He sneered and I let out a scoff.

"You didn't get what you wanted back then, what makes you think you can get it now?" I asked, crossing my arms and he started laughing.

"Still a feisty one, aren't you? Well-" Before he could continue, someone appeared from behind him and Layla tensed up in my head.

A pale skinned woman dressed in black and white walked out of the crowd and everyone got on their knees, including Chris. It didn't take for a genius to know she's the deity of Vampires, Hecate.

"It took alot of time for me to find you but why don't you make an appearance instead of hiding behind a fragile woman?" Hecate said with a malicious sneer and Layla proudly got out from my body.

"I am very honored to know you've been searching for me." Layla spat and Hecate let out an evil laugh.

"You're very welcome. I guess you've had enough fun dillydallying all this time. It's time for you to go where you belong." She waved her hand and black fog appeared and it was shot towards Layla.
