“Soyeon…!”

I felt myself instantly going towards her for a tight embrace and luckily she did the same thing as well. It was something that I’ve never felt before; it was so emotional and full of longing just with how tight her hug was. Seeing Soyeon there well and happy after a literal cross-country pursuit gave a feeling I could not even describe, but I was sure as heck that it was way beyond being elated. It had been almost an entire day of chasing and stress but seeing her here made the entire journey worth it.

“You’re here, oppa!  How did you know?”

“Well, I have my sources… and with manager Lee being panicked about you getting deported all of a sudden, of course I have to do something about it. I literally had to go through hell and high water just to get back to South Korea, and I’m just really glad that I got a lot of help and luck on the way here, you know.”

I felt her move a bit until she slowly broke off of the embrace. However, the same piercing eyes that Neverlands knew Soyeon always had gazed back towards me with worry and concern. I could clearly see that she was trying to preserve her tough, composed image but I could feel how worried and scared she was. It was also awfully reminiscent of the time when we were back in LA when the lights turned off without warning.

I walked a bit inside the small waiting room as I felt the door behind me close. It wasn’t that spacious of an area and I guess it’s the best they could provide with how urgent things had been, but for the most part it was really decent for what it is. It was a large waiting room empty of anyone aside from Soyeon and a bunch of empty chairs with even the softest of our voices echoing amidst the lonely hall.

“Oh God you have no idea how scary it felt like when the staff members went to you and Yuqi’s villa,” she said as she ushered both of us to take a seat nearby. “I think I could say that that’s how being arrested felt like. The company staff just barged in and said ‘Soyeon you’re getting deported back to South Korea by the agency and please prepare your items now’. Yuqi was so scared she was all over the place.”

Damn, I wish I could’ve been there when she needed me the most. Had I only knew that this was about to happen I didn’t storm out of the villas half-assed…

“And when I went with them, I was so worried about the other girls that I just could not sleep on the plane. Soojin wasn’t there too when they took me and she must be really surprised when she came back, you know. I could see her shocked face the moment they tell her I was deported.”

Soyeon, that time I was busy ranting towards her… oh God…

“Don’t worry now,” I told her to remove the accumulating thoughts on my head. “Sunbae phoned when I was about to leave. In fact, this whole thing of me pursuing you was her idea anyway since she thought it would be better if you were with someone from the management; with someone you can actually trust. If you’re worried about the girls, Sunbae went back to the villas and she was the one who watched over them. They’re in good hands. It just so happened that I was the one outside the villas and so I took care of going after you."
