4. Neighbours

"YuXin, I want to visit your place." Cai Xukun demanded as when YuXin stepped into his office to hand in the proposal approved by her manager.

"Ah?" YuXin looked at him with a quizzical frown.

"It's been a week since you moved out. You don't let me send you back home and my mom has been pestering me about where you stay."Cai Xukun rambled on." I don't care, I'm going to your house today." He insisted, showing his childish side towards Liu YuXin.

"Okay then, I'll see you after work." YuXin replied and left the room, leaving Kun who's grinning from ear to ear after succeeding in infiltrating his rabbit's nest.

Her house was a complete opposite of what he'd imagined. Cai Xukun parked his car at the side of the road and followed YuXin closely, turning into a corner of a dark alley where it was dimly lit with a few street lamps. They reached a dingy looking building and YuXin led him up a flight of narrow winding stairs and to her front door that was just a wooden door with a simple lock. 

"You stay here?" Cai Xukun asked in slight disbelief and YuXin nodded her head, inviting Cai Xukun back into her house. The place was just a few square metres big being a studio apartment. When Cai Xukun stepped in, he could see everything that was in there, just a simple bed in the corner of the room with a small living room that had a coffee table and a toilet at the left near the front door. 

"YuXin, is your salary not enough? I can increase your pay.. This place.." Cai Xukun uttered in concern. How could she be staying at such a small cramp place on her own. He thought when she moved out she would at least find a decent place, but this, this was totally unacceptable. 

"Kun, I have enough money, don't worry." She tapped on his shoulder with a smile and walked over to the mini fridge, offering him a can drink. 

"But this neighborhood doesn't seem safe and there's no security too. What if something happens to you?" Cai Xukun argued as he tugged on her arm slightly. His eyes was full of worry and he held on to YuXin's elbow, trying to talk sense to the girl. 

YuXin gave him her usual soft smile and replied, "It is fine and I'll be careful on my own." 

Cai Xukun knew that despite YuXin's soft and amicable expression, the girl was stubborn as a mule on things that she had decided on. He heaved a loud sigh and nodded reluctantly.

YuXin didn't expect the meeting to run till so late in the night. When they eventually finalised the concept for the new launch, it was already reaching midnight. As she walked through the dark alley on her way home, the hair on her neck stood up. She got to admit, it was pretty daunting to walk back home alone on her own, especially when the a few of the street lamps were burnt out, making the whole street dimmer than usual. She quickened her pace and glanced around cautiously. 

As she turned into the corner of the street, she felt someone grabbing on to her violently and clamping on her mouth, preventing her from screaming. The unknown person lifted her up and pulled her to a secluded spot behind the bushes as she thrashed around, struggling to get away.

The person threw her onto the ground like she was sack of rice and pinned her arms up and used his legs to restrict her movement. He stuffed a piece of cloth in her mouth. Under the dimly lit light, YuXin saw the face of the middle age man flashing a sinister smile at her as he licked his lips hungrily. The lustful gaze from the man on top her her made YuXin's body started to tremble as her heart started pounding on her ribcage in increasing rate. The man licked his lips and dived straight at her neck, nibbling on her neck as he kissed her voraciously.
