YuXin creaked opened Kun's office door and found Kun focusing his attention on a call as he held his phone up, engaging in a serious call with his back turned from the door.

Smiling, she decided to creep into the room, closing the door behind her softly and tiptoed in to surprise Kun. When she stretched her hand out in an attempt to give him a tap on his shoulder, her hand was swiftly grabbed by Kun who slowly turned around and flashed her a wry smile before returning back to his serious expression.

"Alright, make sure to edit the changes and send me before the end of the day."

He ended the call and frown his brows at YuXin, acting all serious. "Are you trying to attack your superior in broad daylight? Maybe I have to call security."

"I'm trying to get my boyfriend's attention." YuXin replied, scrunching her nose cheekily. "Besides, in case you haven't notice, it's already 8pm." She flashed her watch in front of his face.

"Right, let's go before my parents start hounding us." Kun grabbed his blazer and reach out for YuXin's hand as the both of them made their way out of the office.

The two of them arrived back at home and Kun parked his car at the foyer for YuXin to alight first while he drove the car over to the garage. YuXin hurriedly opened the front door and was surprised when the house was eerily quiet with no sign of Kun's parents. Instead, what greeted her was a path lit with candles and roses petals leading to her room.

As she followed the path to her room, her thoughts began to race as she tried to prepare herself for what was about to come next. Standing in front of her room door, she placed her hand on the door handle and took a deep breath, steadying herself as she opened the door.

Her room was filled with polaroid photos hanging around, spanning from her childhood all the way to her current life. She saw a childhood photo of the both of them and reach out to have a closer look. It was a photo taken by Kun's mother on his 10th birthday. In the photo, Kun was wrapping his arms around YuXin with a wide smile plastered on his face as YuXin stood and smile meekly at the camera. Every single photograph that was hung all show YuXin's smile in different angles and how Kun looked at her full of affection and gentleness.

As she made her way to the middle of the room, she saw the blue rose petals forming the words, "Marry me?"

"YuXin." Kun called as he walked over to her side.

Rubbing his nose nervously, he sniffed and readied himself for the moment he had been waiting for.

"I know I have said this countless times, but I just want to tell you again that I really love you. From the age of 8 I've started loving you. Maybe I didn't know what that was supposed to be then, but I knew you are important to me since then.. and I really want to spend the rest of my life with you." He knelt one knee down and opened up the velvet box in his hand.

Looking up at YuXin with his eyes shimmering with tears, he managed to say the most important word in his entire life. "Will you marry me?"

.

Their wedding was one of the most ostentatious that Kun has ever seen. When his mother heard the successful proposal from her son, she took no time to contact the famous wedding planner in the whole country who had decorated their wedding venue with the exotic blue roses according to Kun's instruction.

In the grand church, Mrs Cai flashed a proud smirk at Mr Cai while gazing around the place that has been decorated in detail. The church was now akin to an indoor flower garden with all the flowers and vines decor hanging around with the crystals chandeliers ornaments hanging around.

Mrs Cai, "I can't believe I don't have to wait till my hair turns white to drink my daughter-in-law tea."

"Well, our son has really grown up." Mr Cai replied.

As the guests started strolling in to the church, they went ahead to get ready for the long awaited ceremony.

Kun stood at the front of the altar waiting anxiously as the band started playing the wedding music in the background. Although his face appeared calm and collected, his heart was beating wildly with every passing moment. He has been waiting for this moment for almost half his lifetime and he couldn't believe it. It was the most uneasy period that he has experienced in a long while and he couldn't calm his nerves for the life of him.

When the door opened, he immediately swiveled his head over and when his eyes landed on YuXin, he found his nerves calming down instantly and all the anxiety that he has been experiencing melted into the back. Instead, he found his eyes turning moist as hot tears started welting in his eyes from the overwhelming love. His nose too, started turning red as he sniffed back his tears.

Dressed in her all white wedding gown, YuXin linked her arm around Mr Cai and made her way slowly to the front of the altar. Spotting the teary look on Kun, YuXin broke into a smile as she stood beside him. She raised her hand and wiped away the tear at the side of his eyes gently.

The ceremony went on smoothly and Kun managed to contain his tears and recited his wedding vows that he rehearsed countless times without a hitch and the guests started cooing and cheering at different part of the heartfelt vow.

When it was YuXin's turn, she gulped nervously before looking at Kun fervently. It was the first time she had pen her own thoughts into words and she readied herself briefly before speaking.

"We probably didn't have the best start when we first met. I still remember you claiming stakes at your mother to me on the first day we met." The crowd started laughing before they quiet down. "Initially, I had a lot of hesitation, a lot of fear moving into a new environment. But I am thankful, thankful to you and to Mr and Mrs Cai for accepting me into the family. Thank you for being by my side, protecting me and really caring for me in ways I didn't know you were possible."

As they both exchanged their wedding rings, the crowd started cheering and clapping joyously. Mrs Cai couldn't refrain her tears from flowing and quickly wiped off the tear cascading down the side of her eyes, heartened to see both her beloved children finally tying the knot and thinking about how YuXin's parents would be so touched to see their daughter in her white gown, married off to her son.

Looks like we are meant to be in-laws. Mrs Cai whispered internally as the image of their conversation joking about their children being betrothed to each other.
