As much as he dreaded it, Kun eventually had to face the music. He texted Yun Ying and proposed a date for them to have a lunch and she agreed readily. On the day of the date, Kun pulled a long sulky face as he embraced YuXin tightly and snuggled his face at the side of her neck.

"I don't want to go.." He started whining like a puppy, making YuXin laughed softly. Rubbing his back encouragingly, YuXin comforted, "It's only a dinner. You just need to fetch her, have a nice dinner and then it'll be done. Hurry up before you are late."

Kun shook his head and continued sulking, "I need some encouragement from you."

This boy.. YuXin had a soft spot whenever Kun act like a small boy in front of her and she immediately soften her attitude. She pulled away from Kun's embrace and caress his cheek gently before tiptoeing herself and landing her lips on his cheek.

"That's not enough." Kun continue to pout.

"Not enough?"

Nodding his head, Kun gave a dramatic sigh and a sad puppy eye look. "I feel like I am betraying my body and soul going out with another girl when my pretty, kind, fantastic girlfriend is at home waiting for me. Sigh, maybe I should just cancel this instead." He started walking back into his apartment and YuXin quickly grabbed on to his wrist.

She knew how detrimental it would reflect on Kun and his family if he chose to back out from this date. It wasn't just a simple date and it concerns the trust and credibility of his family and their business. If Kun was to call this off, their name in the industry would be affected.

"Wait a second." YuXin mumbled and Kun turned to face her.

She looked up at him and tiptoed again. This time round though, instead of kissing him on his cheek, she pressed her lips against his softly and quickly. "Now hurry up and go before you are late." She shoved Kun into the lift and ran back to her own apartment.

Why does she has this bad habit of running away after kissing me? Kun smirked as he stood inside the descending lift, touching his lips lightly with his index finger.

.

When he met Yun Ying, Kun was the complete opposite as to how he was acting in front of YuXin. He put away his inner child-like persona and replaced it with a stoic business-like expression. More than treating Yun Ying like a date, you can say that he treated the dinner as if it was a business dinner between two potential business partner.

He did do what he was supposed to like a gentleman, opening the car door for her, shifting the seat for her and exchanging pleasantries with her but beyond that, he had an impassive attitude towards her.

Yun Ying wasn't that dense to not sense the distant feeling from Kun and she did not came with the perception that Kun would be someone who opens up to others easily. Wiping her mouth elegantly with the napkin, she smiled at Kun. "You know the reason why I actually spend this much to clinch a date with you don't you?"

"I could guess a reason or two." Kun relaxed himself and leaned back on his seat.

"So, what do you think about a business marriage for us to grow our company together? It's a win-win situation."

"No thanks, my relationship is not an investment tool." Kun rejected blatantly.

Surprised by how he straight up reject her proposal, she gave a scoff. "Mr Cai, I didn't think of you as someone who regards relationship in such a sacred manner."

"Well, you thought wrong."

As the discussion came to a conclusion, the two left the restaurant and just as they were walking back to Kun's car, one of Yun Ying's heels got lodged in between the the drain grate at the pathway. As she took another step forward, she lost her balance and fell forward, almost landing straight on the concrete floor when Kun swiftly held onto her hands to prevent her from falling.

Recovering her balance, Yun Ying thanked Kun embarrassingly and Kun squat down to help remove the strap on her heels to free her trapped foot. Kun looked at the heel and said, "The heel is broken, I don't think you can wear it anymore."

As he stood up, he looked around the area and spotted an empty bench a few metres away. Eyeing at Yun Ying who's balancing awkwardly on one foot trying her best to not let the other foot land on the ground and inhaled deeply. "Let me help you over to the bench first. " Yun Ying nodded and Kun looped his arm over her shoulder and under her knees to carry her up.

"What are you doing?!" Yun Ying exclaimed in shock as she was carried in mid air by Kun.

"Would you rather walk over to the bench barefooted?"

That kept Yun Ying quiet and Kun quickly placed her down on the bench. "What's your shoe size?"

"37."

Kun nodded and wandered off. Twenty minutes later, he arrived back and took out a pair of white heels from the shopping bag, placing them on the floor for Yun Ying. "You can make do with this for now."

Yun Ying nodded gratefully and thanked Kun, thinking to herself, This guy isn't that bad at all.

.

YuXin had herself wrapped in the arms of Kun when she opened her door for him. He let out a huge sigh and lamented, "I am finally back."

Giggling, YuXin patted his back, "If people hadn't known better, they'd think you just went for a battle or something."

They sat down at living room's couch and YuXin noticed the shopping bag that Kun placed on the floor. "What's that?" She pointed to the shopping bag curiously.

Smiling, Kun lifted the bag up and took out two exquisitely wrapped gift boxes. "It's a gift for you." He handed them over to YuXin and ushered her to open them. In the bigger box, there was a pair of black leather loafers and YuXin's eyes immediately lit up when she saw it.

"I knew you would like it." Kun ruffled her hair affectionately as he saw the excited look on her face. "Open the other one too."

The smaller gift box contained a silver bracelet that had a simple yet elegant design. Kun took the bracelet and clasped it on YuXin's wrist, nodding in approval as he look at the bracelet on her wrist. "It looks good on you."

YuXin's eyes sparkled with warmth as her lips stretched into a smile that almost melted Kun's heart away. "Thank you, Kun I love them. Why the sudden gifts though?"

Kun recalled the earlier incident to her and she gave a reply that made him laughed out. "But my shoes are not spoiled.." Kun clasped YuXin's face in between his hands and lock his lips on hers before laughing and embracing her tightly like a baby hugging his favourite teddy bear. My girlfriend is too cute.

"Liu YuXin, I like you a lot, a lot more than you know."
