19. I've Eaten

On the second day of the conference, Kun was surprised to see Yun Ying in the conference room. She gave him a polite nod and smile before beginning her presentation for the day.

"Ms Yun, do you have a moment to spare?" Kun walked up to her after the conference with the intention to discuss her presentation further.

"Sure, we can head over to the cafe for a drink."Yun Ying replied with a smile.

The two of them sat down at the cafe in the hotel lobby, discussing the content of her presentation.

Kun finally returned back home after two weeks of conference. The first thing he did was to rush straight to YuXin's door, knocking on it with an excited smile on his face. The few days apart made him missed his girlfriend terribly and he can't wait to wrapped her in his arms.

YuXin opened her door, surprised to see Kun standing in front of her. "I thought you're coming back tomorrow?" YuXin mumbled as Kun invited himself in and hugged her tightly.

"I can't wait to be back to see you." 

He pulled her to the couch in the living area and sat her down, observing her from top to toe with an unpleasant frown. "What's.. wrong?" YuXin looked up warily at Kun with slight embarrassment from his intense stare. 

Caressing her face gently, Kun sighed. "You lost some weight since I last saw you." YuXin's cheekbone was more prominent compared to before with her cheeks slightly sunken in. The eyebags underneath her eyes also gave away how she had been sleeping late these days. YuXin placed her hands on Kun's thigh, giving him a reassuring pat. "It's just for these few weeks, I am okay. Don't worry." 

Kun pulled YuXin embracing her with his chin resting on her head, "As your boss, I am heartened to have such a diligent employee. But as your boyfriend, it's upsetting to see you overworking yourself." 

If he wanted to, he could have gave the instruction to reduce her workload in the snap of his fingers but he knew that isn't what YuXin would have wanted. YuXin wrapped her arms around Kun's waist and nestled her head in his chest. "I promise you I will take care of myself."

The next morning, Kun handed a paperbag to YuXin when he met her at her doorstep. Peeking into the brown paperbag, YuXin asked curiously, "What's this?"

"Your breakfast." Kun patted her head gently with a grin. "From now on, I'm in charge of your three meals."

Despite YuXin reassuring him, Kun knew that she has the tendency to skip her meals when she becomes too absorbed in her work and he wanted to do something for her. Since he couldn't abuse his power as her boss, he decided to prepare her meals within the capacity of a boyfriend.

It proved to be more challenging than Kun had anticipated though. He scalded his fingers from the sizzling pan as he attempted to fry the bacon for the sandwich and his fingers were now swelling slightly.

Kun let out a wince as YuXin held his scalded hand and she stopped in her track, examining his hand immediately.

"Kun.." She looked up at him with a sad frown. "It must be painful."

Kun, "You can help lessen the pain."

"Let me get the first aid kit from my house." YuXin turned to walk back to her house and was pulled back by Kun.

"What first aid kit." He bend forward, narrowing the gap between them and pinch her nose gently. "You are my first aid kit."

YuXin blinked her eyes with a confuse look, not getting what Kun was driving at.

"Give me a kiss and I'll feel better." Kun lifted his finger and pointed to his lips. A shad of pink slowly creeped up to YuXin's cheek and she leaned in quickly to give a quick peck on Kun's lips.

As she was about to retreat back, Kun wrapped his arm around YuXin's waist and pulled her closer, deepening the kiss, surprising YuXin with the intensity.

Kun let go of YuXin and straightened his back with a sly smirk, "Now I'm all better." He led the half daze YuXin to the lift and patted her head gently. "YuXin? Are you okay?"

Did I overdo it? Kun thought as he turn his attention to his girlfriend who finally came to her senses and was nodding her head stammering, "Ye-yeah I'm okay.. Just.. Surprised.."

She quickly changed the conversation and looked up at Kun, "What about your breakfast then?"

Kun, "I've eaten." He paused deliberately,  caressing YuXin's chin and used his thumb to wipe off the slight smear of lipstick on the edge of her lips. "It's delicious."

His words and action made YuXin's already blushing face turned into a deeper shade of red and she darted quickly out straight to Kun's car when the lift door opened at the basement.

Pft, she's still my cute little rabbit.
