"Kun, have you set a day for the date with Ms Yun already?" Kun's mother asked during their usual Saturday dinner. To be honest, Kun had totally threw this auctioned date at the back of his mind and it only came back to him when his mother brought it up. Ms Yun did give him a text to schedule a day but Kun had yet to reply her. After all, who cares about dating a random girl whose agenda is to probably use this opportunity to climb up the social circle ranks when he already have a thoughtful, adorable, kind hearted girlfriend.

Shaking his head, Kun replied, "Not yet, I'll do it soon."

Kun's mother, "I know it's not easy for you to agree to the date, but it's for charity cause and you get to brush up on your dating skill. If Ms Yun turned out to be someone of good character then you can seriously consider her as your future partner."

Kun choked on his food upon hearing his mother intention and started coughing to dislodge the food from his throat. At his side, YuXin quickly thumped on his back gently to help soothe his coughing and poured a glass of water for him.

"You're the director of a company and yet you still behave like a small kid." Kun's father smiled and shook his head seeing how his son jumped up in surprise at the mention of Ms Yun as his future partner.

"That's right, having a partner may turn you to become more mature." His mother looked at YuXin who's still soothing Kun's back with a comforted smile and continue, "If you find a partner, make sure her personality is like YuXin, thoughtful, kind, filial and capable at work as well. Do you think Ms Yun fit all these qualities?"

Kun looked into his mother's eyes and shook his head slightly, passing the subtle signal for her to stop the conversation. She got the cue and started changing the conversation to the company matters thinking to herself what has gotten into her son today.

.

Kun's mother closed the study room door behind her and sat down at the couch opposite of Kun and said, "So? What business matters do you want to discuss with me?"

Kun rest his elbows on his lap and clasped his hands together with a look of seriousness, "The business of having a future daughter-in-law."

"Oh? You have a partner in mind?" His mother raised her eyebrows curiously.

Kun nodded, "Yes, and she ticks every single boxes of your criteria."

His mother lie back on the couch and let out a deep breath, "Obviously I have no complains about her, I even consider her as being too good for you."

Kun flashed a perplex look at his mother, "You knew who it is?"

"How can I not? Firstly, I am not blind, nor am I slow in these romantic things. Secondly, you are my son, of course I know who caught your fancy. So, how's the progress with YuXin?"

Kun smiled and nodded at his mother with admiration for her observation skills. "We just started dating. She didn't want to disclose our relationship for now saying that it won't look good for Ms Yun and for the company. She also said to keep things down first and look for opportunity to break this news to you and dad. She's scared you won't be able to take it."

"That's why I said she's too good for you, always thinking for others. If she prefers us not knowing then we can keep it as that for now. It's not going to be easy for her dating you, there are going to be voices and comments surrounding her for that..."

"Is that why you pushed your son out during the charity event?"

"Honestly, I was thinking more of the line of hitting our goal. Sigh, spill it, how did you hoodwink her to get together with you?"

"Hoodwink? Mom, sometimes I wonder if I am your real son, your bias towards YuXin is really showing."

.

On the way back home to their apartment, Kun and YuXin remained eerily quiet in the car ride, both of them not speaking a word to each other. When they reached home, YuXin sat at the couch with her body tilted to the side as she munch on her chips quietly. After the dinner they had with his parents, he didn't really have the opportunity to discuss about his date to YuXin until now.

Kun, "Are you.. angry?"

YuXin shook her head, still refusing to face Kun. "Why would I be?"

This girl, she's obviously angry but still trying to deny it. Kun smirked as he observed YuXin's biting on her own lips.

"No? I smell a pungent sour smell. " Kun sniffed deeply in an exaggerated manner. "If I didn't know better I thought someone spilled a vat of vinegar in the living room."

Rolling her eyes, YuXin finally turned to face Kun. "I told you I am not jealous, I am alright with it."

"I'm not." Kun looked into her eyes deeply. "You are the only girl I want to date."

YuXin quickly averted her eyes away and tilted her head down, hoping Kun would not notice the flush of pink creeping up on her face. Looking at the girl he adored bearing such an adorable expression whenever he express his feelings towards her, Kun leaned in close to her lips when he quickly stopped himself and shifted himself to land a soft kiss on her forehead instead.
