{~~first person p.o.v~~ time-skip/// next day/// at school~~}

i didn't get much sleep last night. mom never came home, i had to pick up ai myself. i didn't bother to text or call her, if she wanted to tell me where she was, she would. but i guess she didn't.

i cooked ai dinner, but i still didn't eat. i guess i was worried about mom. when i'm worried i don't like eating, i'd just throw it up anyways. i don't know why i was worried about her. she didn't seem to care where i was. oh well.

i didn't go to sleep until around 5. i stayed up talking to people over the internet, telling depressed strangers i was proud of them. maybe i just wanted to make a difference in someones life, though i doubt i could. they always seemed so happy that someone cared enough to respond to them. i guess it's worth it.

anyways, it's lunch time now. i'm in the library again, no one else is. lunch just started though, so i guess there's still time.

i checked my phone, it was friday today. that meant miya's race was tomorrow. sighing, i let my head fall to the desk in front of me. i tried reading my book, but i couldn't seem to escape my thoughts for long enough to finish a page.

"you sleeping?"

{~~second person p.o.v~~}

lifting your head, the familiar boy came to sight.

"nope."

"hm? you good?"

"yeah, i'm fine! didn't get much sleep last night."

"you're welcome to sleep now, if you want. i'll wake you up when lunch is over."

"..really?"

"sure."

you lied your head back down before muttering a quick thanks.

"would you shut up?"

his voice was harsh, his glare felt like it was burning holes in the young girl's flesh.

"but ai said-"

"i don't care what he said. he's no child of mine. and he won't be until he accepts the fact that he's not a girl."

"you have to stop treating her like-"

"him, y/n."

angry, the girl slammed his computer shut, turning away.

there was ai, standing in the door way, tears flowering down her face.

"a-ai! don't listen to-"

before the older girl could finish her sentence, the younger one darted out the front door.

"AI!"

she ran after her sister, jerking the front door open.

and there was ai.

laying in the road.

a pile a blood surrounding her, and a car driving away.

she crumbed to the ground, trying to get a grip.

it wasn't real.. it wasn't..

"AI"

miya looked at you, a concerned look on his face, before he could ask if you were alright, you took off.

"Y/N?"

you ignored his call, you had to get to her.

even if you had tried to stop your feet you didn't think you'd be able to.

you weren't sure how long you'd ran for, but finally you were outside the elementary school. you ran through the doors, almost slipping as you stopped at the window to talk to the lady at the front desk.

"ma'am? are you alright?"

"i-i'm fine- my sister! my sister she's in class- god- th-third grade? ai l/n? i need to see her."

"alright, um do you have an i.d? why do you need to see her?"

"she- she forgot her lunch money! and yes- id it's- it's here."

you had in on a lanyard, yanking it off your neck and handing it to her.

"alright, i'll call her down." she handed you back your i.d after scanning it.

you waited, fiddling with your i.d. finally the small girl walked into the office, and you immediately ran to her engulfing her in a hug.

"big sis? what are you doing here?"

"you left you- um- lunch money at home."

"no i didn't?"

"oh! m-my mistake."

you let out a nervous chuckle, slightly turning to the lady at the front desk, luckily, she wasn't paying attention.

"al-alright i'll see you after school, okay munchkin?"

"hmm, okay! bye bye big sis! love you!"

you paused.

"i- uh- love you too kiddo!"

she turned, seeming bit surprised, before giving you a bright smile.

you just sighed an walked out, not really wanting to speak to the frontdesk- lady again.

"wha- miya..? what are you doing here.?"

"i figured i should see if you were okay, you seemed pretty shaken up.."

"y-you ran all the way here...?"

"uh, yeah- yeah i did. b-but not for you! i just- i uh-"

"miya?"

"yea-"

he paused when he saw your face, or the tears streaming down it to be more specific.

"please hug me."

"wh-what.?"

"i- i'm sorry i just-"

you inhaled bending down, hands on your knees trying to support yourself.

"i just really need a hug i- i-"

he slowly walked towards you, opening his arms, allowing you to fall into them.

you're fingers clawed at his uniform as you sobbed on his shoulder, desperately clinging for something, anything, to hold onto.

he just stood there, not really sure what to say, or even if he should say anything. he occasionally tried to rub your back or pat it, trying to comfort you in some way.

you had known him for what, 4 days? and you had already sobbed in front of him twice. how embarrassing. you both just stood there, for who knows how long.

his shoulder was wet, your face was no better.

finally, you had calmed down. your breath was still heavy, and your heart was still pounding, but you had stopped crying.

you slowly pulled away, not really wanting to make eye contact.

"are... you alright..?"

"yeah... thank you miya, thanks..."

"sure, um, maybe you should- go home... i don't think you want to.. have a break down in school ya know.."

you smiled.

"yeah, i think i will. oh and, um if you ever want to get your tears all over my shoulder, i'm uh, i'm there for ya babe."

"gh- don't call me that!"

you laughed, patting his shoulder.

"alright, i'm gonna head home. thanks again, miya, i'll see you tomorrow, k? the race right?"

"oh, yeah, i'll be at your house at like, 3 so we can get your pass."

"ah, alright, see you then."

he just nodded as you walked away.

he couldn't help the smile that formed on his face.

and you couldn't help yours, either.
