a/n- the picture of yuzuru above is what i kind of pictured ai looking like. i know yuzuru is like- fifteen- BUT SHE COULD PASS FOR NINE. OR SOMETHING.

{this chapter is going to be miya and y/n being part of the ai protection squad 😠‼️ y/n is best big sister.}

THE PENCIL hit the paper as the young girl threw her head into her mattress. she always hated doing homework, but damn, she figured it might get her out of her head.

it was the next day, lunch time to be more specific. as she picked up her stuff and shoved it into her bag, the h/c girl sighed, before throwing the heavy bag over her shoulder. as she walked out of the classroom, the hallway was pretty much empty, most students had already rushed to the cafeteria to get their food.

"there you are, you eating in the library again?"

miya watched as his friend flinched, alarmed by the sudden voice, but as soon as she saw him her face turned to a smile, and she nodded.

"yeah, that was the plan. you coming with?"

"mhm, figured we'd talk about a plan."

as the two middle schoolers walked alongside eachother, the girl complained, explaining she still didn't know what she wanted.

"i mean, maybe just the fact that i'm bad at it is swaying my opinion. god, why can't you decide what i do?"

"because then if i make the wrong decision, you'll be angry at me. why would i want to take the blame?"

"i'd forgive you a lot faster than i'd forgive myself."

the boy grew slightly flustered, turning his head to the ground as they walked into the library.

as soon as they did, y/n's phone rang.

"hello?"

"y/n? you're on lunch break right now, right?"

"mom? yeah i am. why, what's up?"

"ai won't stop crying"

"what? what happened?"

"well, she was being a brat, and something you wouldn't like slipped out. she's upset."

"damn it, mom. i'm on my way. don't say anything else to her."

the call was forcefully ended before the older woman could respond.

"hm? is everything okay?"

"yeah, sorry, i gotta go home."

"oh, alright."

he seemed upset, which didn't go unnoticed by the girl.

sighing, y/n turned to him.

"would you like to come? i wouldn't want you eating alone."

he was clearly surprised, not to mention red, at her sudden invitation, he turned his head away from her as he responded.

"well, fine, but only because it's rude to reject an invitation."

the trip to the girls apartment wasn't very conversation-filled, considering the second she got to the door she took off running.

luckily, it didn't take two long for the two 14 year olds to get to their destination, as they walked inside, y/n deliberately ignored her mom's greeting, going straight to her little sisters room. she motioned for miya to stay behind her as she gently knocked on ai's bedroom door.

"g-go away.."

the little girls voice was weak, it was clear, even to miya, that she had been crying.

"ai, it's me, you can let me in."

"...big sis..?"

"yes, it's me and miya. can we come in?"

"okay.."

as y/n opened the door, she wore a gentle smile, ai was lying in bed, facing away from her. she walked up, sitting beside her little sister on the bed, gentle rubbing her back.

"do you want to tell me what happened?"

miya just watched, the way the girl's face had immediately softened, the way she spoke so gently. god, he wasn't even the one crying and he felt comforted.

the little girl let out a sob as she opened her mouth to speak, before letting out a weak "no".

"okay, that's fine. do you want a hug?"

as her little sister nodded, y/n gently scooped her up in her arms, almost cradling her as she whispered that it was alright, and not to listen to the idiots who didn't respect her.

the older of the two girls turned to miya, mouthing a quick apology, but he quickly waved it off, mouthing back that he didn't mind.

they just sat there, the only noise being the gentle sobs of the little girl.

after a while, she had calmed herself down.

"here, i have just the thing. i'll be right back, okay?"

as y/n left the room, miya asked ai for permission to sit with her, she just nodded while wiping her eyes.

"did someone say something mean to you..?"

the girl hesitated before nodding.

"yeah... i just... i just want people to accept me.."

"well, if anyone doesn't accept you, they're jerks, okay? don't listen to them. you have y/n, and i'm here too, we both support you."

the girls eyes widened as she forced the older boy into a hug. he just gently pat her back as she pulled away.

"hey miya?"

"hm?"

"do you think i'm pretty?"

miya stared at her for a second, a bit taken aback by the question, but, none the less he smiled.

"of course i do, ai."

the 9 year old cheered as y/n walked back in, a bag in her hand.

"hey, ai, i put an outfit for you to try on in the bathroom! go try it on, k?"

ai, once again, cheered before skipping to the bathroom.

"thank you, miya."

the boy just nodded in response to the thanks.

neither of them said anything else, not until ai re-entered the room, this time wearing a fancy looking dress. it was pink, it matched well with her.

y/n smiled, pulling her little sister to a mirror in the room while she brushed through her hair, constantly reminding her how pretty she looked. finally, she walked to the bag she had brought in, pulling out a small hair clip and putting it in ai's hair.

"there! hows she look?"

she turned to miya, waiting for a response.

he stared at the younger girl before giving her a smile and thumbs up.

"like a princess"
